i think we should park the bus.....mourinho is actually a good manager ...we could ask him for advice

1 change from yesterday assuming everyone's fit.

Bernardo for Raz. Sergio on the bench.

I think the first 11 have enough to win the game but there's some pace, power & goals on the bench if needed.

This will be as much about mentality, organisation & concentration as anything & we've got it all !!

The formation yesterday was a try out for Wednesday

We played a hybrid of back three / four but with walker playing as a winger/right midfield

Can see the logic with Liverpool’s main threat coming down there right, it make sense to play a more defensive option there and keep tight to Salah , a bit like Young did with him for the rags

We also brought sterling in closer to the middle rather than out wide , meaning we were playing with two central forwards. This was as a result of walkers position.

De Bruyne also dropped into that right sided channel and he was the man starting most of the build up , him and Fernandinho were always open for a pass, pep has learnt from the Anfield game where pressure was put on Fernandinho and he was exposed

I would expect the exact same team on Wednesday as yesterday

there,s only one way to play liverpuds....beat them at their own game . attack the full backs where they are weak.

Personally I think we'll beat them 1 - 4, 2nd leg will be a dead rubber. They're really not at all good, looking for "famous" atmosphere's, wearing lucky underpants, burning candles isn't good enough to beat this special City team.

sane wiiide ....i would start bernado silva instead of sterling. hope sergio is fit ...kdb and david causing mayhem in midfield. fern being his usual world class hold mid

Good observations Charles. Spot on.

Start with Sane, Jesus, Bernardo, rest of the team picks itself a part from LB. Think we’ll see either Delph or Danilo there.

Sterling got a goal at Everton but overall it wasn’t his best night. Had he put in a great performance, there would be an argument to start him at Anfield but like this, he’s better off starting on the bench and being brought on to get at tired legs in the last 20 minutes.

Jesus starts even if Aguero is fit. His link up was amazing against Everton and his pressing will be a major asset. Aguero can start the derby.

Keep them quiet in the first half and they will tire out. We are the better team and I’m expecting us to show it over two legs. Let’s win at Anfield and finally get over this hoodoo.

With David Silva, and Kompany starting we are a different animal. Jesus and Bernardo will also be a positive change.

I can see us being 3-0 up and then gifting them a goal in the 89th minute to take the shine off a fabulous performance
There is nothing to fear at Anfield. Their players will be feeling under far more pressure and more nervous than ours especially if they watched our game yesterday
Let's not fall for the sucker punch Eh

Second that, and agree that Sterling would be best suited to come on towards the latter stages of the game. Pep will have something in store for this game at klanfield, we have options to change tact if needed....liverpool dont. Klopp may have a decent record but he is one dimensional, things dont go their way they fail to adapt.

They will go all out to try ang grab 2 early goals imo....like you said keep them quiet and the nerves will kick in

Exactly, Klopp has no plan B. They will press like maniacs and eventually tire out. Think Kompany will make a major difference, helping us keep them quiet.

Look at their bench vs Palace: Mignolet, Moreno, Lovren, Clyne, Ings, Ox, Lallana.

Lallana was subbed on for 5 minutes and got injured so he is most likely out our game. Can wasn’t on the bench but may make his return.

Overall their bench is very weak. They have a derby in between our games as well. No replacements for Mane, Firimio, Salah mean they are likely to start all 3 games so will be tired.

When you take all things into consideration, we really should win both games.

Fern was a bit tired I think last time aroind at Anfield. I remember his passing was way off. So excited about this now but shitting it at the same time.
