Sterling shits himself at klanfield and Jesus will be better for the press away from home
I can't make my mind up about what I'd prefer Pep does on the right. I can see an argument for not starting with Raheem. He does seem to let the scouse knob heads get under his skin a bit when we play there so I have thought we should start with Bernardo who would arguably give us a bit more control of the ball in the circumstances. But then our absolute best 11 certainly has Sane on the left and Raheem on the right and this is a game where we need our best 11 if ever we did. Maybe we need to just trust Raheem and hope that this is the time he will rise above it all and give them what they deserve. Either way, I suspect Raheem will be starting, looking at the subs made yesterday.

I wouldn't be unhappy with this but I'd still rather have Aguero and Sterling in over Jesus and Bernardo.

I love Sergio but I think I think a lot of people are going for Gabi because he holds up the ball better, and in this game we know for a fact that they’re going to come at us at a hundred miles per hour, right out of the traps. Kun is a very direct sort of player, slightly more wasteful in giving the ball away. We can’t afford that, and I think it’s especially important to have the majority of possession for the first twenty minutes or so, just to take the wind out of their sails. By the same token, I’d like Kev to rein in his desire to play the killer ball, that takes out three defenders. When it works it’s breathtaking (it very nearly worked at least three times yesterday), but the nature of it is that it often doesn’t quite come off, and then you’ve given the ball to the other side. With this lot, we can’t afford that, at least not for that initial period. In fact, this time round, and with all three, Ferny, KDB and above all our little Spanish magician — I think there’s a strong case to be argued that he’s having his best ever season for us, yersterday he was nothing short of phenomenal — we can play possession, slow them right down, stifle service to their front three, and in fact win the first leg outright by one or two of our cute goals in the second half. Won’t be easy, but I’m fairly confident.
I don’t actually think that second game advantage at the Etihad is that important, with this team. They can win anywhere. And yes, that includes Anfield.

Liverpool were shit against Palace yesterday. Mane should have walked imo. Are they saving their best for us. If so if we don' give them any mistakes we will beat them. We went to Everton and could have had a cricket score yet in the 2 nd half used it as a training exercise. We are so superior and we will win

Big one this, obviously, and not overly confident given our record at Anfield. Then again, this is a different City who keep on breaking records and exceeding expectations. Personally I’d play three at the back and try and keep it tight, but I doubt Guardiola will do that and, hey, he knows a lot more about football than me.

I would play, for what it’s worth:

Ederson
Walker
Kompany
Otamendi
Laporte
Delph
Fernandinho
Silva
De Bruyne
Jesus
Agüero

Then again the temptation to put Sane up against Alexander-Arnold must be big.

Have to play sane ric! Glad your not picking the team...

We have done well against Bogey teams this year bar Pool.
Maybe we lost at Anfield in PL bcoz we were supposed to draw them in CL and break the jinx on an even bigger occasion.Hopefully this time we truly break the jinx,no better time than UCL.

And yes Pep himself had 3 weeks to prepare for big games and had 2 weeks with team.
I think would have figured out what to do and I am expecting the positive result at Anfield and then at Etihad both against Rags And Pool

I think I’d take a 2-1 loss now.

We never win at Anfield, and this is the best Liverpool have been in a decade or so.

A couple of big decisions for Pep in terms of who’s going to play up front on right and left back.
I can’t believe he won’t pick Sterling - it will be a brilliant testimony to the lads character and Peps coaching if he can finally do it at Anfield.

Left back I’m not so sure which way he will go. Every other player who was on the pitch yesterday was nailed on for Wednesday so I can’t see why he didn’t play Danilo if he was going to play vs Liverpool. Bringing Delph back is a big risk and presumably Zinchenko is a no go v Salah. In which case it’s Laporte - he’s a good player no doubt about it but not a regular left back......

Must score at Anfield. I think that is crucial to this whole tie. Going back to our place without the away goal could really hurt us. Score draw 1st leg, good win 2nd leg would be my hope.

Think Laporte could play a big part in the next couple of weeks. Kompany can’t play 3 games in 7 days.

If both Sané and Alexander-Arnold start, we'll win. I'd be very happy with a score draw for what it's worth.

All about the first 20 minutes, we need to start faster and close them down early. If we can do that then I think we’ll win it
