I'll never forget as a young kid in 1962 going to an Oldham v Dippers FA Cup tie. Dippers were in the old 2nd Division (under Shankly). There was no segregation in those days and Boundary Park was mostly standing terraces. The dippers fans kicked off when they were 2-0 up (would you believe). Crush barriers snapped and the police & ambulance men had to evacuate loads of women & kids from the terraces. That was my first taste of football hooliganism, years before the phrase was even invented. They were scum then and they are scum now.
