Liverpool (A) PL - Post Game

Kyle Walker and Gundogan are finished. They shouldn’t play another minute for City. Rico Lewis will never be good enough for City, the fact he keeps getting picked is ridiculous. Until Pep sees this and takes action we are just gonna keep seeing the same results.
I would play Jack in the middle. At least try it from the start.

You can't have watched city much in that time if you genuinely think that performance was the worst ever since 1976?, Borough away, Lincoln in the cup, Mansfield in the windshield Cup to name a few without even thinking about it.
Halifax away.I was 10. Didn’t take long to get home but I still remember the funeral like atmosphere in the car.My old man was fuckin livid while John our next door neighbour needed counselling for a week or 2 lol

The score line flattered us , a well organized side ready to pounce on any of our mistakes in the back half never had to get out of first gear.

Our structure and lack of pace to defend their first simple goal , one pass into our half and one pass into our penalty area tells us how easy we are to score against.

I hope we can start to cut these basic frailties out of our game but there is no sign we can and every side I mean every side can get at us.

Our highlights on the City site tell the tale , we never caused their keeper a second of angst perhaps KDB's chance aside which in his hey day would have enabled him to pass to someone who was better placed or make a much better fist of the chance himself tells a sorry tale IMO.

I hope this is as bad as it gets until we bolster our ranks and say good bye to the likes of Gundy , BS , KW , KDB and some of the fringe players who won't be part of our next era when we get serious again about being a force in the premier league and in Europe but we shall see.

This is a mid table outfit at best.

Where as i totally agree, i just dont think we have the players to fill those gaps at the moment.
The recruitment by txiki has been that poor, this is the mess we are left with

The puzzle is kdb and grealish not getting any sort of game time
Nunes at RB, has to be a better option than Walker or Rico.

He has pace, can mix it when needed and has the ability to get up and down the field.

Well that's me, I'm done. Not with the club, not ever, but with the morons on this forum who, despite not being world class managers themselves, seem to know better than the world class manager we have got. The complete and utter shite that you lot come out with is not only pathetic, it's embarrassing.

You're not City fans, not really, You never were. You wouldn't be mentally capable of following this club down to the 3rd division and managing to keep your dignity and your sense of humour. You can't even cope with a bad patch, or even a single loss at times. And you're all too dumb to understand that you have already witnessed the greatest period in our history. Because you won't see a better manager or a better team who has jelled as well as this group has, and to be slagging them off and writing them off the way you are doing, week in week out, tells us everything we need to know about you.

I'm not going to name names, you know who you are. And you know what? I'm glad you're suffering. Because you don't deserve to support this club.

You know what's really funny? You all slate the likes of Neville, yet you get carried along by the hype. If you watch these matches without the commentary, without the media leading you, you see a match where Liverpool dominated the first 10-15 minutes and from that point on was pretty even, against a team on top form and who are full of confidence having just beaten Real Madrid, it's the sort of result we could have seen in any other season.

It's been the same for most of the other matches in this run. The stats show we've had more shots, more possession and so on, and it all comes down to one thing: The core of the side has been ripped out and it's not going to change much from one match to another until we get player back and until we are able to rest some of the players who are struggling. Bernardo is the obvious one but there are others. Why are any of you even surprised? If half your car engine was ripped out would you expect the same performance from it?

Everyone is raving about Liverpool, they're on a roll, but they look like they're already celebrating the title and we've seen what happens when teams do that. We showed today that we're not that far off, we need to get a couple of players back and we need to get a bit of confidence back. And I can cope with that. Because of what this club has given me in the past decade and beyond, I can live with it, but mostly because I understand why it's happening while you're all too dumb to see it. But the worst thing is you're ruining that enjoyment, your completely spoiling the achievements we have made, the trophies won, the records broken, and so on.

It's hard to believe but despite all this we're only 2 points from Arsenal, who at the start of the season were tipped by many to win the title or at least run us close. Because you all know nothing. Liverpool lose 3 matches, we go on a run and beat them at the Etihad and we're back in it. And it could happen, however unlikely it may seem right now. But you're all falling apart and I can't stand listening to the drivel and vitriol on here from morons who have the audacity to call themselves fans. So I'm done. I'm out, and this is my final post. I'd rather support my club through good AND bad, like I always have done, and enjoy the good moments without thinking I'm entitled to them every week like you lot do.

The sad thing is you'll never find the perfection you're looking for, but that's your problem. Enjoy your misery, you deserve it.
We will bounce back. I have faith in pep and the team. Squad Aging added with injuries and low confidence are the main problems but pep is the right man for the job, he will fix it. Lets stay behind the team.

We don't. Phillips was the biggest disappointment. The lad looked half decent for Leeds and England and while he would never have been another Rodri he should have been able to do a job in the holding role in midfield. He came here and looked like he had two left feet and had never played competitive football in his life.
Nunes was a panic buy and just isn't good enough for the top level in spite of a few half decent games on the wing.
Gundogan is another surprise. He looked half decent still at Barcelona and was a no brainer on a free, but his legs have now totally gone.
Savinho and Doku the jury is out. Both flatter to deceive and if they want to stay here they have to create more and chip in with at least 10-15 goals a season.

Grealish and in particular KDB just aren't fit enough to play regularly atm.

We rarely win at Anfield, 3 times in the last 68 years tells you that. It's just a bogey ground for us and we're not alone in that. We might have all hoped we could scrape a draw maybe but deep down we knew we'd get beat.

Poor recruitment and underperforming of the players we have recruited now means we have a huge rebuilding job on our hands. I'd say a left and right back and a proper solid center half. We need a holding and also a creative midfield player and another striker. That's six players, half a team. We also need to look at the injury records of these players.

We could see the end of the road for Walker, Gundogan, Ederson, KDB and possibly Stones at the end of the season. Great player but he's just never fit. If we got offered half decent fees for Nunes and Grealish I feel they might be moved on too. The first five have been magnificent for us over the glory years and Grealish during the treble season but they all look totally burnt out and that's no surprise given the levels they've performed at and the effort they've put in.

Whether we ever reach those dizzy heights again time will tell but boy what a last few years it has been.

@thismeansfour
Have you calmed down yet? Have you seen the bigger picture yet?

Do you realise that this team has come to the end of it's cycle? Do you realise that this team has give it's last breath to please hysterical and knee jerk fans like you only for you to throw it back in their faces by being entitled and slagging them off! The bigger picture, do you get it?

This team have so much credit in the bank for what they have give us that they are allowed a year off when it doesn't happen on the pitch and they look off it, we should be getting behind them.

Thank God you didn't support us when we was really shit, you wouldn't have been able to handle it if your toys are out the pram for the team that has won 4 in a row.

Can't wait to see what you come back with.

That's the Board's problem...

Poor succession planning has impacted on the quality of the squad, and that's what we're seeing now.
Apply the same level of planning to finding Pep's successor and we're in trouble.
Even Txiki acknowledges the last year in the transfer market wasn’t great, but we are talking about the best team EVER in England all hitting the physical wall at the same time, with both age and injuries contributing together.

We are in a rather unique moment and the entire English footballing world wants to knock us off our perch, so the media and other fan pile on is to be expected. What is bad, and I’m at fault here, too, is that our own fans are seeing the writing on the wall and some players are finding nowhere to hide.

Coupled with Pep using “yesterday” tactics to address “today” problems, and you have a perfect storm that has produced the worst run on forever for Pep and for decades for the team.

This, too, will pass, but there are no quick fixes in football, especially when the problems are entrenched and need a long term fix.

I fully expect we will soldier through this season looking bang average for long periods, but I also fully expect City 25/26 to look quite different from the OAP XI we have today.
