Exactly this. If it's a foul it's a foul, but it happens 20 times in every match, yet outside the box in particular, it's ignored. So is it or isn't it? They need to be clear on what is allowed and what isn't, but if Liverpool score that today it's probably given.

Yeah, Cancelo acknowledging to Phil there that it was all on him.
But have to gree, Kev looked pretty off it, maybe that was down to . He did have a few breaks and was occupying space in between the lines a few takes, but he just didn't look at the races today, and a lot of others were off too much of their passing.

Kev probably worn out after playing a full game against 11 men midweek, that and and playing in a poorly set up team.

Barring his terrible defending for Liverpool's goal, if the intention of Pep is to use Cancelo as a wingback, which he basically does all the time on the left or right, then he has to play it with freedom.

Usually on the left, Cancelo can stay wide, come inside and switch with the winger, sit next to the holding midfielder to ping balls around, he likes freedom.

When you force him to stay wide, because you decided to play 4 midfielders rather than give him a true winger partner, you limit what he can do. He isn't a typical wingback who stays wide and just crosses in, he can do much more.

We already know he isn't a great defender, but don't limit the part of his game that is truly unique by making him a traditional wingback.

Draw would have been fair. I think it's easy to have a go at Cancelo but one on one at the back? Crazy. I'm looking on it as 1 point lost rather than 3 which makes it easier. We got done on the counter which is impossible to avoid if you play like City (and Liverpool).
