Liverpool (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

If you're watching the Sky post-match they just clearly showed Bernardo lined up in the wall and Donnarumma shouted at him to get away, he wanted to be able to see the ball.
I didnt see their post match so thanks for the info.

It still seems odd to me that Donna would ask for that, I get the visibility, but we gave him free access to just shoot down the centre on a free kick?

I've never seen that before.

There isn’t a single fan that gives more of a fuck than Bernie! I love that bloke.

A hard game to get your head around.

I thought defensively we were very good, Geuhi is a proper proper player.

Haaland kept his nerve for the Pen, but boy, was he bad.

Marmoush just isn’t going to cut it, compare him to Bernie.

Semenyo is going to need to massively up his work rate and general play if he wants start week in week out.

What a result.

VAR can get the fuck out.
Too harsh on Marmoush, hes been a threat, hes been fighting. He could do much better, but it was good enough today.

Haaland gave us assist and a goal when we needed him most, no point to single out what game he has had, he been fighting as well.

Semenyo is a worst take of yours here. Semenyo been working his socks off today. Again. Its just that nothing comes out of his ideas today, but hes obviously good enough quality wise.

Bernardo is more of a leader than the older legends (2012-2019), Kompany aside. And more of a big game player.
I think you're right, he may not be a chest thumper, Andy Morrison type, but in his interview at the end talking about leading by example, and passing on what he learned from Kompany, Fernandinho, Silva etc.

Keep the foot on the accelerator now and slam home five Prem wins in a row, which is an absolute must given the opposition and our title hopes. Then smash Arse in the final, and get right in their heads.

I honestly believe that if we beat them at our place we'll go on to win the title.

Keepers often overrate their ability to save anything from that kind of distance.
Remember Weaver (?) putting up a 2-man wall against the rags. And that **** Beckham sticking it in the top corner.
Im sure there used to be a keeper(maybe keepers, think he might have started a trend) in the 90's, that if the freekick was 30+ yards from goal he had no wall so he had a better view of the ball if they were shooting

I think it's one of the best free kicks I've seen in a while, to get it through the gap between the 2 walls and then move that much left to right and hit the post on the way in...sometimes you hust have to say fair play that was world class.

9/10 times Donnarumma saves anything that starts that centrally if he can see it.

Might have been the only person in about a dozen pages that said we'd win after seeing the lineup in the prematch thread. Pep got the setup spot on (almost). Brilliant performances all over the pitch lead every bit of the way by our captain and his understudies. Winning in that manner at Anfield no less should really galvanize the team to make sure we put up a fight for the title. Got to follow it up with a win midweek now else it's all for nothing.
I also said 2-3 and a few wanted me sectioned.

Genuinely still don't understand why they have disallowed that third goal.

Whilst we all wanted the goal to stand, VAR applied the rules of the game which is what they are there for, no?

Yes you are correct.

But, it does you wonder how they manage to get so many other wrong in almost every game ?

Well actually it doesn't as far as I am concerned because PGMOL are corrupt imo.
