Arise Sir Philip of Foden.
Arise Sir Philip of Foden.
Salah will never be respected by anyone but Liverpool fans because of his cheating. He has been a stain on the game in my view which is sad because he is a brilliant player. VAR has escalated cheating by players because making decisions based on slow motion replays is a flawed process where every contact looks like a foul. Of course Salah is not the only one but he is the biggest diver with Martial a close second.Where's Dias meant to put his arm though? Salah is sticking his right arm straight out into Dias' chest, so where does Dias' left arm go? The only way to stop any contact is for Dias to run holding his left arm vertically up to avoid any and all contact. It's a cheats trick, put a part of your body near an opposition player and throw yourself over at the slightest contact.
Salah's arm wasn't pulled back at all and if the VAR ref had done his job Salah would have had a yellow for diving.
He probably should have just cleared it though but he shouldn't have to make a bad decision just because the opposition player is a massive cheat.
Really good post, agree with everything. Just listened to Football Weekly and there were a fair few journos having to eat their words about Foden (some very seriously wanted to ship him out on loan to get kicked about in the Championship, what a bunch of jokers). The most impressive thing about Foden's development last night, but this season, is that it's like he's still serving his apprenticeship. He's still being asked to go play and different roles, in different positions, in different types of games because Pep would prefer to sacrafice short term gains for longer term development of Foden. We have a lot to thank Pep for, A LOT, but if Foden keeps working hard and grows up a bit off the field we could still be benefitting from that in 10 or 15 years time.We were just better than them, it was that simple. Some aspects stood out to me.
1. I have never seen Salah so quiet in a big game, Zincho played him superbly.
2. Dias is human, his mistake though rather than damaging us, spurned us on and the togetherness we showed stood out.
3. Gundog. Missed the penalty, scored twice and never stopped with his passing , he never hid, a real testament to his character.
4. Raz made one of the "worlds" best full backs look like a sunday league player when he ran at him at him and he broke his hoodoo. An important moment
5. Rodri was immense, he dominated the midfield, made important interceptions, passed the ball intelligently and was a real physical presence, He plays very differently to Ferna but on yesterdays showing he is the heir.
6. The whole team worked so hard, everyone played their part and whilst some had games that didnt show them at their best, you can not fault any of them for their work rate and willingness to press, close down, tackle and support each other
and 7
Fuck me maybe Pep was right in what he said about Phil and Messi. He was magnificent. He is so talented it is scary,. His goal was Messi like, but what impressed me more than that, was the last minute he was still chasing back and working hard. That is ingrained in him now and he is one of our very own. He is defo making a lot of the opinionated journos who thought he would never get a chance to play/should go out on loan look very silly. I loved how Ederson ran the full length of the pitch to celebrate his goal with him, it meant a fucking awful lot to them all.
Its a nice feeling on a monday morning, lets hope our heads on the Swansea game, as their records to be broken and silverware to win.
Come on City we could win the lot again
I dread to think!I'm struggling surfing the net too!
Put my wooly socks on, I've got a big meeting and didn't want to shit myself in front of my boss. How's everyone's feet this morning?
Not forgetting Southampton 100pts, going with Oh happy day.Felt like a cross between QPR and the six one. I can't get the song Happy days are here again out of me head for some reason.
When you say “grows up a bit off field” I am sure he already has. He has made a mistake, learned from it, and moved on. I think we should all move on tooReally good post, agree with everything.
