Liverpool (A) Post Match Thread

We need to be more clinical with our finishing as we would have been out of sight in the first half. This team does have some balls though, we’ve crumbled in the past at Anfield after dragging ourselves off the floor 2014 being a prime example of doing the hard work and then suckered by Coutinho. That Salah goal would have floored some teams, our lot got on with it scored an equaliser and could have gone on to win it.

The scousers should be thinking they are in a scrap if they want to take the title off us. They managed a 15 minute spell to get a foothold in the game, the rest of the time they were dominated. The dump of a stadium should now be called Fodenfield, he loves it there.
It’s also Bernardo’s playground

Probably something to do with where he was going. The media couldn't portray someone Liverpool were signing, as being a complete ****, could they. Only the holy join Liverpool.
That's true. But it's nothing to do with Milner really, is it?

Watched the game in an "Irish Pub" in Paris. Nothing Irish about it (I was the only English, there was absolutely no-one Irish for miles around. Didn't look anything like a pub either...)
They all chatted to each other, and watched the game out of the corner of an eye, the way people who neither know nor care about football do. There was one guy in an ostentatious Liverpool top who must spent perhaps 80% of the match on his mobile.Big screen four yards away.
My profound contempt for that club was rekindled. I just thought "Yeah, that's the kind of 'support' you deserve". They all looked up to cheer the two dipper goals, of course.
Wasn't wearing my colours, but I cheered our two very loudly. In my best Manc accent (despite not being a Manc). Just to let them know that there was one dissenter from the cult in the place...

We saw the future yesterday, or at least I hope so. The team we finished with is pretty much our strongest 11 imo

-------------Ederson
Walker-Dias-Laporte-Cancelo
--------------Rodri
Jesus-KDB-Sterling-Bernardo-Foden

The problem we have at the moment is converting chances to goals. I think that will improve as KDB gets fitter. He used to be able to run late into the penalty area and hit the deadball line and pull the ball back. That's gone from his game at the moment but last season showed that his fitness is variable and it will come back.

The choice we have to make is whether to play Mahrez or Jesus on the right and then play Jesus instead of Sterling. I would persist with the above side.

On a separate point, up until yesterday I thought CIty would fall short this season and finish 2nd behind Chelsea but having seen City at Chelsea, PSG and Liverpool, I think we can win the title again this season. Our problem is chance conversion. We need Foden to play in the position that maximises his goals and that I think is left-sided attack. And then we have to try and get goals out of Sterling / Jesus. Grealish may develop but at the moment he is not direct enough.

I loved Pep's animation yesterday and his sheer outrage at the incompetence of the referee. It's not really incompetence is it. It's a lack of bottle to make difficult decisions.

Brilliant game, brilliant performance from us and I hate to say it, but a brilliant goal by Salah.

Milner should have been sent off, everyone knows it, not much point getting upset about it now.

That's the type of game that we usually lose. We showed the champions mentality in coming back twice. Foden is an absolute joke. If KDB picks up form after this international break I have no doubt we'll go on to win the league.
