Liverpool (A) Post Match Thread

I think that was one of our most impressive games I have ever seen.

Over the last few months we have matured into a truly world class team. I always used to see the big teams play in the CL, and to a lesser extent the PL, with a sense of calmness that comes from knowing that they have been there before, know whats required, and have the players and method to prevail.
City are now operating at that level. After watching us in the last week, every opponent’s inner voice will be telling them ‘I have to be at my very best to get anything vs City’. Almost worth a goal. Scum had the same effect working for them for 20 years.
The great thing is that it is Manchester City as a side that is fantastic and not any individual. A positive for me from Kev’s current dip (goal aside) or Jack’s bedding in, is that it has almost no effect on the ultimate outcome. Step up Bernie, Rodders, Diaz, Phil.
Manchester City were magnificent.

Came downstairs this morning to what looked like a crime scene.
Two TV's, two laptops, one in two pieces, cables, tablet, android boxes and an old phone all strewn around the house.
My internet decided to go haywire about 20 minutes into the game and i spent the next hour frantically switching devices for a watchable stream.
Salah's goal resulted in my laptop flying through the air after an angry boot sent it on its way.
The un-interrupted footy i did see was fantastic though and thanks to my pre-match advice for Pep, Milner did get ripped a new one by Phil and City were the better team by a mile.

Should have just gone to the pub.

And it will be swept under the carpet.

Remember when Pickford collided with VVD for weeks and months the press/media wouldn't stop talking about it. By the end of today milner wont be mention again.

It could have been a serious injury to Bernie falling onto his neck like that.

And he got a yellow card for his troubles.

Great Post.

Really feared the worst when went 1 down after absolutely battering them but absoolute credit to the lads for digging in and showing real character and fight to come back not once but twice.

Will absolutely batter em when they come to our place.

I am mostly quite reserved when watching city, I'm not animated and can watch it in a chilled out fashion but any time we play Liverpool I just morph in to a raving madman.

They are probably the most dilikable team I've come across (worse than the rags).

Jordan Henderson- Gormless gobshite
Robertson - moaning rat
Mane - diving twat
Salah - diving twat
Milner - greedy jammy bastard
Klopp - moaning twat

hate em miles more than rags now me

That was my takeaway yesterday as well. Liverpool are an exceptional side with an exceptional home record and an exceptional manager, with arguably the best player in the world right now, and in the second half they gave us everything they had with the referee to back them up and we still matched them and were unlucky to leave with a point. I think we will win the league this year, but if and when we add this striker, either through Torres coming good, Delap coming in, or doing something in the market, I think we've got Pep's best City team still to come.

I loved Pep's animation yesterday and his sheer outrage at the incompetence of the referee. It's not really incompetence is it. It's a lack of bottle to make difficult decisions.
I don't think it's a lack of bottle. Arguably it takes even more "bottle" to ignore a blatant yellow card, in full view of millions of people in 187 countries. What message does that send out??? It's officials with a brazen disregard for the rules and I was pretty shocked by it tbh.

What’s your reasoning on them being poor
Nothing Kev did seemed to come off, seemed like he didn’t have studs in at times and slipped whenever he was played through

Ederson could have saved at least one of the goals, and no idea what he was doing for the chance that Fabinho had

no harm done though, they’ve both more than earned an off day
