No I've never bet against us, my mate does all the time & he gets some grief for it from me.

The nearest I come is for a late goal from whoever we're playing to pull a correct score City win in.
Fair enough. I’ve not done it since 2010, but with our record at Anfield, and for the reasons @The Riot Club described, I am thinking about it for this weekend.

I agree it does feel wrong now, even though I used to do it fairly regularly before the takeover (accumulators, of course), and made a decent amount off them.

i think the ref will av a huge say in this game the fa wont want city to open a gap in case they do wat they did last season and the sponsers wont be happy expect few dodgy calls

Am I horrible supporter for considering placing a consolation bet on Liverpool winning?

I used to do it all the time when I was younger, without compunction for obvious reasons, but now it just feels... wrong.

The year we first won the Premier League I was betting against us every week. I was sick with nerves going into every game so i used to say to myself, how much would i pay for the 3 points today and then bang it on the City loss. So if we won I was very happy, if we lost, least i'd have some cash to dry my tears with. Luckily I lost lots of money, especially the Newcastle away game!! Happy days!

I was just as nervous but could not bring myself to bet against us that season (or those that followed). I am far from superstitious in nearly every aspect of my life—I believe in empirical and outcome-based assessment.

But it is a bit different with City. ;-)

That is why I am torn for this weekend. I suppose I will end up not doing it.

I may have a bet that we won’t win the CL this year, though. Easy money.

Of course. This is my betting system. I do it more now because the odds are so good. Lyon were 17/1 to beat us.

Out of curiousity, did any of you place consolation bets prior to our golden era?
Yeah I’ve fuck all problem with it.

It won’t change what happens.

Back when we won the league first time I placed £100 a pop on United to beat Wigan and then again to beat Everton.

Best £200 I’ve ever lost.

Absolutely correct—I just haven’t been able to bring myself to do it these last few years.

That said, with how corrupt the PL can be, I imagine if we all went in on City losing with fairly large wagers, it might affect the outcomes. ;-)

Was chatting to a rag at work today, he asked me if I now understood why the rags hate Liverpool as much as they do, I’m beginning to get it.

Play the same , take the game to them , EDERSON - WALKER , KOMPANY , LAPORTE , MENDY - STERLING , MERLIN , DINHO , BERNARDO , SANE - AGUERO. , we just need a referee who will not bottle the big decisions , and we win.
