I'd be gobsmacked if Sterling doesn't play. He's had two years to 'mature' under Pep and so far this season he is looking sharp. This is the game that needs to give him a seismic shift in confidence and take him to the next level, if it ain't happening on Sunday it will never happen.

Absolutely , the amount of crap Sterling endures and we have tools on this forum jumping on the band wagon , go on an Engerrland forum if you want to slag his finishing but he scored over 20 goals last season and will do the same this season , and is a vital part of our squad just wish he would sign the contract because he is one of the top three wide players in europe and will only get better under Pep.

Yep, I think we all.know he will continue to miss those. But he isn't a striker and where I see improvement is in other aspects of his game, he needs to show himself and everyone else that he can do it in the very important games, at the most difficult of grounds.

He does have an issue in his finishing and one on ones. Surely people recognise this and it's an observation and not a criticism?
