Sterling surely starts, regardless of previous shortcomings??

I have a sneaky feeling this is our 6-1 moment v the bin dippers

I'd rotate Sterling out not just because of his previous shortcomings. I thought he was below-par in midweek, and to start with both Sterling and Sané is to potentially surrender some much-needed control in midfield.

It depends if Mendy starts I guess...

I’d personally get at that defence, it’s been built up as some kind of Milan hybrid

I’d go...

................Eddie...................
Walker........stones............Mendy
............Gund....dinho....................
..........merlin.......Bernardo
Sterling...........................Sane
...................Kun..................

Take it to the ****s

We'd lose 8-5 with that lineup.

I'd also not want Gundogan anywhere near the starting eleven.

I'd start with this. They always target Fernandinho with their press, so we need a second pivot to help control the midfield and spring the counter. Keeping possession is key, bring on Sterling, Kevin and Marhez late on if we need them.
I think Bernardo would help Fernandinho more than Stones. Or even Zinchenko. A busy bee type would be better than a defensive type. IMO.

I’d go with this formation. Stones and Kompany provided our most sound defense last season. Judging by peps interview he won’t change the formation, so I chose a 4-3-3. Bernardo and David were the obvious choices together due to their recent form, and I chose Mahrez over Sterling because Sterling tends to struggle at Anfield. Hope we can get 2 or 3 goals and concede no more than 1.

Laporte is our most consistent defender this season. Can't drop him for the biggest game yet!

Their fans are desperate for Sterling to start as their convinced he's going to bottle it again but he's bound to have a good game there sooner or later. Tough call for Pep but that's why he's paid the big bucks.

But the last time Mendy and Sane played together it looked like Mendy was so conscious of not going forward he forgot how to defend as well. Im not sure they can work well together-especially with the way Merlin and Sane interplay on the left.

He’s been our best player this year imo, would we do the same with Kev?? I don’t buy into this psychological hoodoo, he’s now in a place where his maturity is shining through, let the lad express it!

I just hope we don’t lose to these absolute wankers. Need to keep our shape at the back and not get too giddy and bomb forward. Scouse twats will boot over the top for the chase.

I absolutely hate these twats

I see a lot of the double pivot talk with Stones and Fern. Stones has played 1.5 games in midfield and can’t see him starting there in what is one of the biggest games of the season especially considering our poor record at Anfield.

Have a feeling Mendy will start and will be told to play more inside than to bomb forward. A cameo for DeBruyne also imo. Sterling will have a good game and City win.
