Team bus setting off for Anfield

Just watched City v Dippers best goals , it would be interesting if they could show the worst refereeing decisions , i can think of five dubious decisions we have suffered against the Dippers just in 2018 , but that wouldnt suit the Dipper love-in narrative .Yet when the 5-0 is mentioned the very first comment is always the unfair Mane sending off and how the Dippers should have been 3-0 up , ignoring the high tackle , missed the ball , endangered an opponent , player stretchered off after eight minutes of oxygen/treatment and a dozen stitches in his face , if you had kicked someone in the face like that on the High Street you would be looking at 6 months in jail.

First 20 mins is crucial. Keep the ball kill the intensity and silence the crowd. Make it a typical City away performance where we dominate proceedings. We have to have an error free game and need to score the first goal for once. As they then push up we will have chances. Their squad is not as good as ours and their team is not as fresh following three tough games which they have failed to win. The last 20 minutes is vital and with Mahrez, Jesus, De Bruyne on the bench (I would guess) we have players who can go and win us the game. Needs to be a mature performance with excellent game management. Slow it down to kill their high intensity tactics and when subs come on they need to work hard and make sure we maintain the lead or get back into the game. Against Hoffenheim we were a bit too gung-ho late on when we should have been playing keep ball and seeing out the win. Chelsea fell into that trap last weekend, Barkley kept trying ridiculous passes to set Hazard away when a simple pass amd retaining possession was all that was needed.

I am praying for a win and we should on paper stand a good chance. My gut feeling this morning is that they will press and we will cave in the first half and start to panic, concede goals and spend second half trying to get back into game with Liverpool just sitting back and defending a lead.

Sounds about right

We have been better than them for the last 8 years or so and not won. Hopefully them being seen as the greatest side since football was invented this season will help reverse the trend today.

For a team that has won nothing they are being praised very highly , Souness even said they are the best Liverpool side since they last won a title (unfortunately my memory fades after 30 years ) and yet when our team is discussed we will only be considered a great team if we win back to back titles and dominate English football for a decade. Those seven Premier league games the Dippers have played this season must have been quite momentous occasions.

I strongly believe the players mentality will be a lot stronger this time at Anfield compared to recent visits there.

Last season's games couldn't have gone any worse, with the bad ref decisions and caving in for 15-20 minutes in the first half, conceding quick goals etc.

I firmly believe our players will be relaxed this time and will play their normal game and will come away with a decent win or at least a draw, but definitely not a loss.

Laporte and Stones didn’t fare well against Lyon, I think one or both of Kompany and Otamendi has to play
Otamendi fucked up leading to goals in two of our last three games against Liverpool.

I’d have him on the bench for this. He’s not overly press resistant.

I'm really looking forward to this game. Its going to be a fantastic games of football regardless of the result. Hopefully we win. If we cut out the silly errors we will win*

*Big doubts about the ref shafting us. Not just the big decisions, but all the soft free kicks they will get when we breathe near them whilst they kick lumps out of us and get away with it

Yes I'm really looking forward to football being the winner.

The result is everything!
