Looking forward to this. Shot to nothing, nothing to lose in this. Liverpool have the pressure. If it was our ground it would be different story, but with our injuries, playing away, Liverpool having everyone available, they shuold win on paper but I believe Pep will pull out a master stroke and we'll either get a draw or a win. The only bad result for us in this is a tonking

From the way United stifled their full-backs I would go with 352

...............Ederson...........
......Stones...Dino....Otamendi
Walker........Gundo.............Mendy
.........KDB.............Bernado
..........Aguero...Sterling

It’s about 11 players not fucking 1, it’s bad enough people singling out scapegoats, but before the fucking match ffs

agree but gundy is slow & can go missing. We can’t afford that with his position. If he’s not on form Liverpool will cut through the middle with an already fragile defence. His position is crucial against Liverpool.

Yes please! This means Mane vs. Stones, Firm vs. Dino and Salah vs. Otamendy. I take that lineup from you guys any day of the week!

I kow what you mean mate, but the same goes for any other player.
If Walker, Stones or Ota or LB do the clownery, we are fooked.
If Fern struggles under high pressure, we are fooked.
If KDB - or Ederson - is sloppy, we are fooked.
If we don't take our rare chances, we are fooked.

No point picking out Gundogan for whatsoever.

I think the main point is: how do we cope with the Anfield factor? After a possible 'coach welcoming'...
Will Pep find Cancelo or Angelino ready for Anfield? Or Phil?

When Walker has a confident game like Saturday he could be the main factor shutting down the ugly diver (the one without curls).
Going behind is a no-go anyway if we want to keep the booing crowd a bit more silent.

I hope we finally bring to an end what we just missed last year...

If I just consider the players I'd say we win. But our lads have to be ready for the most disrespectful set of fans in PL,
and Klopp will do his bit to tell his players and fans how "angry" they have to be, he will set the fire.

totally agree but gundys position is critical in the middle and all I’m saying his lack of pace will be a real issue against Liverpool,

that role he has is so important not only going forward quickly but protecting our fragile defence. Everything will need to go through him with & without the ball. I would rather have fodens energy at least he can give Liverpool something to think about.

I don't see too much pace in their midfield but more so on their wings, if at all.

We need perfect ball control in our mid against an agrressive press. Gundogans ball control and positioning is much much more important than his pace.
I could imagine Pep might let play Fern as a 6 in possession and drop him between the CBs when defending,
while Gundogan acts as an 8 in possession and drops to double 6 with KDB when defending,
443 <-> 523.

I also think Jesus might start as he can offer more legs in a busy high press in away games.
This season Sergio only started away in B'mouth and Norwich, all the other away games Jesus did.

It's all about the first 25 mins when you play at Klanfield.
We're a better team than them, but injuries on our team have levelled it up somewhat.
Whoever plays we have to be spot on with our tackling and shape.
If we're spot on with our shape, I can see us creating quite a few openings.
That is not strictly true now, last 20 mins trent sends in endless freekicks earned from a dive, they know with their height they can scoremif we keep him busy right until the whistle goes then we only have the long balls to the 2 divers and them diving, expect shithouse tactics if they need it,i think it's a game too far with 6 first team missing

Because most of the football world know nothing about the “hacking”by Littlewoods Inc,due to the hold
Littlewoods has over the cowards in the media(apologies to the Times). Can the travelling support give it the Full Monty,Hackers,Hackers,to let the rest of the sports world know how corrupt the Liverpool FC is.Thanks in advance.

Liverpool fan here.

The best thing that can happen to us is Pep starting to overthink that game like he does in every CL QF and to overcomplicate matters by putting out some strange formation like some of you posted on here. Just because Sheffield can play 352 against us and get away with a narrow defeat doesn't mean you can and not get thrashed. If you just play your normal lineup (minus two regular starters in Rodri and L'amerique) and that with confidence and at the top of your pressing and possession ability (I am thinking Chelsea last season both games), it will be hard to live with you.

That means normal front six with Fern in his MF position (pretty sure both Silvas will be fit and unbanned), Ota, Stones, Walker, Cancelo/ Mendy. Would love to see Fern vs. Fab in a passing the torch kind of game :)

I think it's pretty obvious what lineup you can expect from us. I am sure Pep will show he's worth 20+ million pounds by coming up with the sublime masterplan of targeting Dejan Lovren lol.

Going to be either the most entertaining game for us since, well, Arsenal last week, or another cagey affair like the CL final.

Here's to a 'lucky' 4-0!

Cheers
5 FIRST TEAMERS possibly 6,get lost with your digs

His lack of pace? Granted he is no Leroy, Kyle or Raheem but their midfield isn't exactly rapido is it!

It's a pity we've got an away match on Wednesday,
and the scousers have an extra days rest.
Doesn't always mean much mate, just look what Wolves did to us with two days less rest and playing a game in Serbia or somewhere.
Can see the scouse twats raising their game massively again here and playing out of their skins. Fear for our full backs, think Robertson and Alexander Arnold will have a field day against whoever is picked.
I'd expect this side from Pep: Ederson, Walker, Mendy, Otamendi, Stones, Fernandinho, Gundogan, De Bruyne, Mahrez, Sterling, Aguero.
Subs: Bravo, Angelino, Garcia, Foden, Jesus, Doyle , Cancelo.

I want 3 points here so, so much. Even if we don't win the title and I feel we're bit short for it this year, I want them to sweat and suffer as much as it is possible.
