City should request that the Premier League find them a safe way of getting to Anfield. And safe does not include a baying mob of thousands bricking the coach, and most importantly throwing flares, which if one landed near a fuel line could cause the bus to be on fire and potentially kill everyone in it. From a health and safety point of view such danger in peoples work areas is totally unacceptable and wouldn’t be accepted anywhere in a normal workplace (well, apart from uefa in Istanbul)
A normal workplace would rule them out.

That seems the most likely team, although a possible alternative would be to play Stones as an out and out midfielder ahead of Kovacic, and play Akanji at centre-half. His pace might be needed against Nunez and Diaz.

Haven't thought about this option, looks very interesting. There are pros and cons.

A possible negative is that Liverpool might read this as an encouraging sign that we fear them and would be happy with a draw. Also, Kova might be a better option for beating their high press, as he is more nimble and better on the ball in tight spaces. But he takes some risks at times, too, which is not optimal at Anfield.

Pep might prefer to play with 5 attacking players (Haaland, Alvarez, Foden, KDB and Bernardo) than with 5 defensive players (Walker, Dias, Akanji, Stones and Ake).

Another tactical option: Bernardo next to Rodri and Nunes on the right/left due to his ability to run with the ball in spaces freed by Liverpool's high press.

Surely the onus is on Liverpool FC. Let's put pressure on them to make a statement that if anyone is found caught throwing anything at City's coach they will be given 3/5 year stadium bans or some other punishment. But just like in 2018 they knew what would happen but just turned a blind eye, took advantage of the psychological damage done and then came out with alily livered apology

It's weird, as fans a lot of us know that the so called 'Anfield atmosphere' is a fallacy and Anfield is nothing special but it hasn't stopped quite a few of our sides getting stage fright & losing their bollocks over the years.
It will be hugely disappointing if that happens again, as it is, i think we'll win on Sunday

Something like this is likely

..............Ederson

......Walker....Dias....Ake

......Stones...Rodri...Bernie/Kova

...Nunes/Bernie... KDB.....Foden....

...................Haaland

A more attacking version:

.......Stones.....Rodri

Bernie....KDB....Foden...Alvarez

..............Haaland

with Foden and Alvarez interchanging positions. Btw, Alvarez played at LW vs Copenhagen in the 1st half.
