Liverpool bus damaged on journey back from Etihad Stadium today

No one did compare those two incidents.

Have you all completely forgotten the last time the City bus got damaged? It was 6 months ago. There was no baying mob, there was no 10's of thousands of pounds of damage, there was one damaged window from something the club reported happened on their way home from Anfield and noticed the morning after.

That's the incident comparable to Saturday, and City took the moral high ground by condemning it. They didn't apologise. They didn't blame City fans, they said "throwing stuff at coaches is bad".

It's fucking peverse that anyone thinks that's the wrong thing to do. It's also completely ridiculous to say it happened "in the middle of Manchester" when it's about 50 feet from the stadium.

Some of you are just desperate to attack the club for doing anything, even when it's clearly the right thing.
Step back brother!…I’m not condemning the club or anyone on ere for having an opinion either way, I’m talking about the way it’s being reported, of which there has been no mention of the last incident, the Scouse loving media are comparing it to the CL incident for maximum exposure. I know how the club does it’s business and taking the moral approach is ok by me, what’s not ok is that massive arrogant morality stick that’s stuck up your ass that you like to constantly shake at people when you think you’ve seen an invitation, the only thing that’s ‘perverse’ is you going about acting like you’re representing the club on such matters, my moral compass is strong enough to hold my own opinions, if & when they are different to the club I will make that abundantly clear

it’s getting quite hard to respond to someone who is seemingly divorcing from reality, inventing things and simply lying.

If you can’t find any mention of damage, you’re not really looking hard are you? This is the opening sentence of City’s statement.

“Manchester City FC has been made aware that Liverpool FC’s coach sustained damage on its return journey following today’s game.”

Not able to find the GMP statement? It’s been quoted in full all over the place.

Following yesterday’s Premier League fixture between Manchester City and Liverpool, GMP received reports of criminal damage to Liverpool FC players’ coach. It is reported the incident took place at approximately 3.40pm on Ashton New Road close to the junction of Rowsley Street. There were no reports of any injuries and the Liverpool club coaches were able to continue with their journey. An investigation has now been launched by Greater Manchester Police to identify and locate the offenders.”

Come back to reality, stop lying about the club apologising (they didn’t) and stop inventing stuff about the club saying nothing hit the bus.

You’re as bad as Liverpool fans pretending 2018 was just one can of Koppaberg.

Someone damaged the bus, that’s bad. It’s bad when it’s our bus, it’s bad when it’s visiting teams’ buses. The club was right to condemn it, and they didn’t apologise for something they had no control over.
The club are co-operating with the GMP, they are duty bound to do so because LFC were returning from a PL fixture with MCFC. The criminal damage was reported to GMP by LFC, as anyone would expect them to do. Our Safety & Security team is awaiting CCTV from the LFC coach to ascertain whether there is evidence to assist in finding the culprits. The club is of the belief that the culprits were opportunists, not connected to the club.

Nothing really to get our knickers in a twist about.

As @domalino has stated, the club has NOT apologised, simply because we have nothing to apologise for.

So they had control over the mystery thrower? And control over fans voicing their opinion about why Liverpool are so universally disliked. Things happened at every single game in the country probably. The question is, why do City so desperately feel the need to issue hair shirt, cilice wearing apologies so readily?

@Ric can we implement some sort of literacy or comprehension test for members? Because it’s getting more than a bit embarrassing that so many posters can’t tell the difference between condemning something and apologising for it.

The. Club. Did. Not. Apologise.

It’s not that difficult to understand.
You're embarrassing

It was, the rest was Tennent's extra

The coach was written off. As was the bus.
In fairness, Klopp should be written off.
Liverpool's performances this season, especially away from home, have been shocking.
I don't agree with knee-jerk reactions to bad results (e.g. don't think Patrick Viera should have been sacked), but how has the media continually ignored the shortcomings of Klopp and his mediocre team's performances ?
Hopefully, LFC will get 7th place and a place in the Europa Conference...

You’re getting into a rage at your own football club because you either don’t know the difference between an apology and condemning something or you’re simply deliberately misunderstanding it.
Ha OK, to humour you.

Should the club be condemning their own money paying fans for expressing their heartfelt feelings and should they be condemning the bus incident before any investigation is conducted and any evidence is produced? The kneejerk, quick off the press, grovelling statement is why there is so much anger.
You have a thesaurus based hissy fit but the majority of us feel let down.

As far as I can make out, SOMETHING was thrown at the Liverpool team bus and caused enough damage to warrant a police investigation; MCFC condemned it - That's IT.

No blame apportioned to City fans (except perhaps in the media), and no proof it was even City fans.

Yes, they should condemn someone damaging the bus of a visiting team because that's exactly what the club (and fans) want to happen when it happens to City's bus. They don't want people to wait 6 months until "any investugation is conducted".
