Liverpool bus damaged on journey back from Etihad Stadium today

They have been utter cunts for decades, they have got away with it for decades and that’s why they are despised by our match going fan base. Nothing to do with Hillsborough.

No one is disagreeing with that, but the song is linked to Hillsborough and sending me a bunch of abuse for pointing that out doesn't change that fact. You can't retroactively decide a song that's been linked to Hillsborough for 11 years suddenly has nothing to do with Hillsborough.

You are so far stuck up your own arsehole that I really don’t think you can ever see any other viewpoint other than your own, nearly all of your posts are like that. I am not sure if you have attended any or many City matches and therefore whether you have any real understanding of what City fans feel and why.

I have been going to games home and away since the 60’s, aways starting more in the 70’s. Liverpool fans have always in that time been cunts, be it Stanley knives, spitting and piss throwing, bottle throwing and NEVER been held to account for it; none of the journalists who live them used to have to dodge the shit that visiting fans did, in fact even when Joe Corrigan got hit with a bottle the MOTD commentator actually praised the liverpool fans cos 3 or 4 of them were pointing at the **** who did it.

We have had their support of racist Suarez (including Carragher who I believe has since said it was wrong but no journalists called him out for it), we’ve had puss thrown us from above in the anfield road end for years, supporters coaches bricked on the day we impeccably observed the Hillsborough anniversary, they’ve had a bus parade on the Heysel anniversary, they coined and scarred a young City fan at the Etihad recently, they’ve mass attacked our team coach, they’ve spat on our coaching staff, they’ve coined Pep, and so it goes on.

Not to mention their songs about Munich, shipman, the IRA, their disrespect of the national anthem.

They have been utter cunts for decades, they have got away with it for decades and that’s why they are despised by our match going fan base. Nothing to do with Hillsborough.

Regardless of time lines the victims song was started by united fans who sang it for years before we did. We adopted it in more recent times due to the above. It has nothing to do with Hillsborough and everything to do with their mentality and behaviour, and then continuously getting away with it and having it whitewashed by a sycophantic media
This, plus blaming Heysel on the *The stadium not being fit for purpose/ * Belgian Skinheads/ *Uefa / * Chelsea fans / * Belgian Police (*delete as appropriate).
In fact everyone and everything but their own feral fans.
To put it another way, it's never their fault.

For me always the victim doesnt specifically mean hillsborough at all, it mean the last 20 years of excuses for just about every incident that the football club use when they run themselves in to trouble. This is player and fan related. Then the biased reporting from media that twist and turn the events.

I believe fans would not sing the victim song in reference to hillsborough at all if it wasnt for the countless incidents. Media and FA have a lot to answer for because of the way the side with LFC, do we all agree they do ?

Two examples would be the bombardment out team coach took a few years back and the incident in the cup girl where a young girl was seriously hurt.

Where does it end, in 4 or 5 years time do we politely stand and clap when the opposition score a goal. These are raging football fans at a game hellbent on having a go at each other for 90 mins and the rest.

spot on brother

Fuck the hypocrites.

Match going blues know exactly why they sing "Always the victims" no matter what nob heads from overseas or whereever who don't go to games think.
Agreed, the scousers have waged a massive forty year campaign of victim top trumps, it’s quite clearly about the fact they have failed to acknowledge or accept wrongdoing for ‘Anything’. Their list of misdemeanours is extensive, and instead of owning their issues (see City’s numerous apologies and banning of supporters as a way to go) they have attempted to flip or hijack the narrative ‘Every’ single time, their media masses and supporters mobilise behind it until they reach their ultimate goal (see the weak surrender of the French government) Lfc are the original purveyors of what is today known as cancel culture, and they are out of control, we can only hope the rest of football say enough is enough and actually pushes back

This post bears no references to Hillsborough

I'll probably get slaughtered for this but apart from us tearing them a new arse hole on Saturday the next best thing was hearing a large part of the stadium singing the victims song to them as they fkd off in their droves after our 4th goal ! They deserve it as since the somewhat one-sided final Hillsborough verdict they know their almost untouchable and can do as they want with as nobody dare say or do anything against them ! For me fk em sing what we want !

Get off your fucking high horse, I didn't sing the precious song. I was pointing out people singing it didn't have Hillsborough top of mind, it was triggered by actions on the pitch and wasn't sang again.
Yep, I was at the Blackburn game when the disaster happened and was well aware of how iffy big pockets of fans from ALL clubs were, it could have been any of us.

I sang it last weekend, never gave a thought to Hillsborough as it's got fuck all to do with it.

For a City that supposedly hates grasses they don't half do a lot of grassing people up.

I was on the bus near the South stand when their escort came past, the old bill outnumbered them
Their players on the pitch outnumbered them.

The defeat on the pitch hurt them, but the surrender of their fans hurt them, and their vainglorious entitled rats, much more.

Out sung, outwitted, laughed out, then.....outside.

They are not used to being schooled, couldn’t cope, and simply gave up. Believe me they are seething more aboot this than 4-1 !!

Embarrassed & Embarrassing !!

Yes, you're up against it when your whole mantra is you'll never walk alone then you fuck off and leave your team to do just that.

Society as a whole was told Hillsborough was the fault of football fans, by the government, the police and the media, not to mention its own governing body. If you attended matches in the 70’s 80’s & 90’s you would have experienced police brutality, kettling, violence, thuggery, and being penned in cages. Every football fan was a potential victim, every football fan was treated like a criminal (almost subhuman at times). A few are hard wired into believing LFC supporters were in part to blame for Hillsborough, is that really their fault given the way it was reported ? Some people will also attempt to attribute the ‘always the victims’ chant to Hillsborough, even though it is widely accepted and understood that football fans weren’t at fault that day, it’s my belief if you don’t hold LFC fans responsible for Hillsborough, then how can they relate the song to it if you sing it ?

I think that if people wanted to sing about Heysel, they'd use one of the many songs about Heysel, and if they wanted to sing about defending Suarez, they'd make up a song about that, and Always the victims not being explicitly about Hillsborough gives people what they think is an acceptable fig leaf to sing about Hillsborough being Liverpool fans fault whilst pretending they aren't.
I think that is complete horseshit. That you frankly have no right to claim.

I agree the song is 'accepted' as being 'associated with' Hillsborough, for reasons already noted. And that that may make it arguably inappropriate, I've had no issue with the club statement.

But to argue people are hiding behind it to openly sing about tragedy is one fucking perverse take, no matter how self righteous you might feel. That's a shocking take, in fact. For fans of any football club.
