I can't remember who was pushing for their inclusion from the UK. I think Beckenbauer had a say in getting them reinstated due to them being royalty and all that.
 
So Liverpool would have failed FFP, but weren’t in Europe, and wrote off £38m loan from their owner? But cleared to play in the next season.

I conceed defeat as just googled it.... I was going off the winners of the European Cup always being entered into the following seasons competition. So i was half right (meaning you were half wrong ;)

They'll get a basic fine and a warning, plus a comment that it didn't effect the result. Which si probably better for us anyway as arsenal may see this as the most realistic domestic trophy to win thus forcing Klopp to play a strong side rather than rest them.

The difference with Sunderland is that in the Sunderland case the player played in several league matches, so how would you go about punishing Sunderland for that?
Would other clubs complain if Sunderland's league opponents were awarded the three points and a 5-0 win?
Where as with liverpool's offence it doesn't affect any other club
