Liverpool FA Cup s/f (N) | Post Match Thread

Pep has always had the rolls royce on call. Whether is was inheriting that ridiculous core of Messi, Xavi, Iniesta at Barcelona, to the unprecedented power of the single club league in Germany, to his ability at Man City to activate any release clause he wants. Pep has never never known struggle. That's the biggest criticism of Pep, and its valid.

Granted Pep knows how to get a team playing elite level football. But if you gave Pep and Klopp 100m to build up a squad over three years. After those three years, I think I know which team would be at a higher level
Why exactly would you criticise anyone in Pep's shoes though? Is it written in law somewhere that all managers must manage a Brentford say before moving up? Or are you just an Arse fan who's a little bitter perhaps?

So you think Torres is better than Sterling..by the way it's not a subtle dig it was a full on dig.
Stick to bigging up the dippers
The point is Sterling is not wanted by any of the big clubs.

Rival or not, I admire genuine sporting achievement. I've given them credit for their Champions League win, but not for their League win. You can figure out why.

We have lost a fair few FA Cup semi-finals lately, I am surprised so many keep going. The FA making two NW teams trek down to London is also a bloody good reason for not going.
Only 6 in our entire history 4 under pep.

20% record under pep, 82% in the other 11. Only other loses in 1924 and 1932.

How the fuck do you know Sterling isn't wanted by any of the big clubs?
He's still under contract at City so until he's either told he can look for another club or runs his contract down, you really have no idea who would be interested in signing him.

Posted this on the Pep thread but still relevant here.

Only move Pep could have made was playing Ederson however Steffan is played in the cups and he stuck to it.

Every other change he had to as we just had a bruising match 2 days before.

The problem, as I see it, is that Sane and Torres left without replacement, Aguero left without replacement so he's asked to work miracles without a striker and the club have left it a season too late to bring in a Fernandinho replacement. We are also without a LB replacement however that was out of their hands.

As such that's 3 players short. 3 players who could have made a big difference in a game like yesterday when half the team are knackered.

It was well known last season that Sterling was not committing to City. That's when the Barca rumours picked up momentum. Even now, there is no sign of contract extension. If clubs were interested, there would be some rumours. Regardless, he is not good enough for a move to a big club.
