Liverpool FA Cup s/f (N) | Post Match Thread

its not just Wembley. Our vocal support in general is getting worse. It was better when we didn’t win trophies.

The semi final against United I haven’t heard an atmosphere as good as that. So we are more then capable
Liverpool and United have a lot of southern based fans, bandwagon jumpers if you like from the 70's, 80's and 90's, so it's easy for them to traipse to Wembley every time and make up the numbers. I'd bet 40% of the Liverpool fans yesterday didn't have a scouse accent.

the dynamic of the occasion has a big part to play imo.
that semi against United was exhilarating from start to finish, and it was a huge occasion being our first time playing there. Just seems to be a general apathy towards Wembley nowadays, and playing with a second string side doesn’t help matters.

And the rest. Very few genuine Scousers coming out of the ground and on the Metropolitan line. Lots of youngsters too.

we’ve become lazy as a fanbase and lots of our fans look bored and almost as if they don’t want to be at the match
I was thinking that too. Complacency has definitely set in too with Wembley trips being almost annual and to think we used to dream of trips out to Wembley. Definitely a factor I reckon.

I agree with you, Jesus has played well over the last few weeks, especially against Liverpool in the League. Unfortunately, he is not the most clinical of finishers which frusrates many on here but that can be labelled at a number of our players.
Just felt had he lifted his shot on the 1-1 with Allison he would have scored. Unfortunately he tried to place it and it was too close.
So easy to choose an option in retrospect.

Anybody else feel deep down that the way we played in the second half was more significant than the way we played in the first, despite losing overall? That's my feeling, anyway, and I don't think I'm just consoling myself. This, with a weaker (or at least more tired) team than theirs.
Sort of tired of us losing semi-finals at Wembley, but pretty upbeat about the coming weeks, finally.
That Jesus chance in the second half. You can't help feeling that one of the Liverpool forwards would have buried that. If he buries it, it's totally game on.

I switched off as soon as the third went in, went to my happy place , gogglebox , not reading all the bile and vile stuff aimed at the team in this thread and most of the others

Over it already
You missed the best bit!

He should Have scored. It was a terrible miss and it’s week after week that these misses are killing us. Had Gundogan scored that easy chance on Wednesday, that game would have been much easier and Mahrez and Sterling last week. It’s almost every week we miss easy chances. Bernado at Palace cost us 2 points, Sterling at Southampton. All piss easy chances. That’s why we need a striker, however much it costs.

The team selected didn’t perform to accepted standards in the first half.
Yes the feral fuckers were undoubtedly fresher and at full strength and capitalised on it.
However Steffens errors aside they didn’t give us the lesson the press and sadly some of own are peddling.

Yep should have scored and definitely should have lifted the ball. Without trying to excuse him, I never feel confident with any of our players with 1-1. Hopefully things will change in that area next season with the additions of Alvarez and Haaland.
