Liverpool game... 12th man

I'm only saying this cos I would of hated it of they would of won, they make a good game of it but .... Fuck off! We should of fucked them but we didnt.... I think the players actually got taken in by the atmosphere ( but the fact is lpool ain't shit rite now)

I have to agree about quinn today I had to hit the mute button after 60 mins.
on the few matches at the end of last season he co commentated on he came across as pro city understandably so. and was maybe told to tone it down a bit. but he over did it today for me.

Redknapp and Hansen are the real wankers though.

The atmosphere is very over rated at Anfield. I don't know where this myth comes from but there are much better atmospheres at many other grounds around the country. It was like a fucking library before the goal. A lot of foreigners around aswell, every time I looked at the home fans someone was always taking a picture or filming the game.

Didnt hear a squeak out of them until they scored..... From my perspective we played football for first 30 mins, then pool decided to bully us because they cant play football. They started the second half the same but we were much better after we subbed our 'passengers'... If we would have started with the personnel we ended the game with i think we would have won.

I think we might rue not doing better today, we will see how our title rivals do in this fixture, that will put this game in perspective..

We might Rue this result? People said that last season when we lost to pool. We've improved on that result so I don't see that much of a problem with the result. Liverpool as usual, will do well against all the big teams and take points of them all. I'm not happy with the performance but Im happy with the point.

I thought my paranoia was getting the best of me today but Niall Quinn was shocking, he must have some gripe against City, he was up the scousers arse from the first whistle. Judging by this thread I wasnt the only one to notice this

Get used to it. Last season teams were up for us because we were the richest club, now add Champions to the list.

It's going to get harder.

No mate we drew this fixture last season.

The point im making is that if the rags, chelsea and arsenal win this fixture that puts this result into context for me.....i dont rate pool, i dont think they they have much quality in the side and i think we could have and should have beat them today. All they did was start kicking pushing and elbowing and making it more a physical contest rather than a footballing one.....imo of course.

Yeh you're right, for some reason I was thinking we lost. Must be getting old.

You're right about Liverpool not having much quality in the side but we can't be thinking about how the rags, Chelsea and arsenal will do there. It's a long season and everyone's bound to fuck up at some point. Personally I would have took a point before we kicked off today so I arn't too annoyed about it.

The draw is not a bad result but i can see them losing a few to better teams.

-- Sun Aug 26, 2012 10:22 pm --

I was there and as someone said, we only heard them after they scored. Thry were silent apart from that. Unlike the City fans who supported the team for the whole 90 minutes.

We were right at the Main Stand end of the Anfield Road Stand and the number of tourists/day-trippers we could see was phenomenal. Barely a scouse accent to be heard in there I suspect.

Quite a change from the days when you dare not speak outside the ground for fear of them detecting your Manc accent. We walked back to Lime St today, first time I've done that walk since the bad old days. As we got near to the centre a couple of Liverpool fans asked us the way to the City centre. I kid you not !! Sounded Scandanavian. No problem with that but just seemed such a contrast to the last time I did that walk.

Prob Norwegian. My Gwladiator watching renegade son tells me all Dippers are Norwegian.

Anyone who was actually at the game that there was only one reason why Liverpool won today(sorry drew!), it's that the atmosphere was amazing.

I'm disappointed in our players that they couldn't over come it but fair play, must have been a good game to watch. This is something Mancini needs to adress especially going on into the champions league... Mabye

They were so quiet after we got our second you could have heard an ant fart.

They sounded very loud at times but like Utd it was only when they were winning, if you can't be loud then when can you be? Often at the Etihad our fans are intimidating even when we're level or losing, we may not have the scarves and flags like them but everyone knows we're one of the best in the business.

Poznan > You'll never walk alone

I went to the game and thought there fans where shite, most of the time we out sung them untill they scored and the after 5 mins quiet again, absolute garbage fans.

I then get home and watch it again and you could hardly hear us and Liverpool fans sounded great its strange that as they was garbage, It must of been where sky places the microphones for the game because it was different there believe me.

Well I was there yesterday and their fans definitely outsang us, this doesn't happen very often at any ground but it did at Anfield.

We were the ones who were quiet as a library at times. But there were times when neither set of fans were making any noise and I thought I was actually in a cemetery!! After they scored their second I was trying to get 'we're Man City we fight to the end' going but it was impossible.

Sorry but we were absolutely NOT the 12th man yesterday.

Onwards and upwards with Manchester City.
