Ran out of gas in the second half and allowed Liverpool back in the game. Very poor defending again by Otamendi. Was at fault for the first goal ( before you start slagging me off watch the replay) and completely at fault for the second. He has been very poor lately and cost us a lot of goals. The biggest disappointment is losing three in a row with a very tough game coming up at the weekend.

Otamendi is not a good defender when put under any sort of pressure. He can’t deal with it.

We scored a goal ruled out for offside that was wrong, twice. We also hit the post and had a flurry of chances in the first half. Genuinely didn't get any rub of the green.

Liverpool fan's say you can't buy some things, they clearly aren't referencing the officials.

It's best to assume we will always be fucked by the ref.

However you just proved my point, we had a flurry of chances... and we don't take them.

Liverpool have 2 chances and score and it was the same in the 1st leg.

We take all our chances and the ref becomes almost irrelevant.

Well we went for it, first half was amazing, guys gave it everything but damage was done in the first leg, should have been 2-0 at half time, but once again referring in Europe went against us.

Let's get the league won, enjoy the season as a whole and forget the last three games, if we'd been offered a league and cup double at the start of the season we'd have taken it.

Cannot fault the effort, and we have been cheated over the 2 legs with the offside goals, and the downright bent referee tonight.

That said we again cheated ourselves by gifting 2 goals and Otamendi since the spain v argentina thrashing has been shite.

It's difficult though once they equalised, Liverpool just put 3 players on 1 of our players and put 10 behind the ball.

A red for sane ignored a possible penalty and the offside goal.

Dissapointed and tbf this is worse than sat as we didn't deserve to lose on performance.

The defence gets little protection at times. There is really just Fern as a defensive mid (I refuse to include Gundogan as such) Once they get past Fern the central defenders are exposed and our fullback situation is no better now than Clichy /Kolorov. We need one or two mobile ,fast physical central midfield defenders to screen the back 2.

If the refs had got it right the first game would have been 3-1 (Maybe even 2-1) and we go into tonights game needing just 2 goals....
With home advantage I would have fancied us against the Liverpool that showed up tonight

We will lose to spurs this weekend, understandably so, they're a decent side, we've come off the worst week in the last 18 months. But the league still won't be interesting because we have West Ham, Southampton, Huddersfield etc...and United/Liverpool aren't winning their next 6 games on the bounce. Settle down.

Those games will not be easy those teams are fighting to stay in the prem

Yes ref made some bad decisions, but every defeat it's always the refs fault, for all our attacking in the first half there keeper made 1 save, we dominated the first half but rarely created

We need to get a couple more attackers in their prime, there’s a reason teams don’t have an attack full of kids and that’s because they’re not yet at that level of playing world class consistently. Our whole attack is basically kids when Kun doesn’t play, not gonna win a CL like that.

How many saves did Ederson have to make? over the 2 legs? We created more than them surely? Also it's easier to score on the counter with bags of space to run into. BT are so biased.

We had 0 shots on target at anfield, and it's not about chances you make, it's chances that end up in the net, they put 5 in the net we put 1, simple really

Over 2 legs refs have a minimum 4 key game changing decisions to make and get all 4 wrong in Liverpools favour.

it's a confidence game from here on in and we don't have a huge amount . I d give almost anything for a result of some sort on Saturday . Glad this CL is over. Spurs have played some good stuff after their exit so let's hope we get back to where we were eh?
