I’m not sure how the half way house rotation today would have left them any less tired. It was a very strange line up.

He plays De Bruyne in matches like Wolves in the cup and yet rests him today. He better play 2 strikers on Tuesday or his decision today will look even more baffling.

It's a little strange all round. As you say, there was times earlier in the season when I was baffled by de bruyne playing in the League Cup and he was largely flogged to death for a large part of the season.

Today was just a fucking nightmare all around as we ended up with fuck all ,and probably a further dent in already fragile minds.We'll run ourselves ragged and might come up short against Liverpool, anyway. Id rather have sorted today out then worried about Europe on completion. Now we have ended up making the entire situation worse.

As disappointing as the second half was today, the first half showed we can do what we need to. In many ways I'm more confident after the derby than I would have been if we'd won 1-0 or something.



Tuesday is about scoring goals. Lots and lots of goals. 3 minimum, 5 probably necessary, if not 6.


And today we showed against a much better defence than Liverpools, that we can slice through them and create chances at will. Aguero will be on the pitch, Sterling won't have another day as bad as today in front of goal, and if we can repeat the first half today in the first half at Anfield, we'll be 4-0 up and they'll shit themselves.

The fans have a role to play, if the fans are calm as they were today, we lose, if we shake up the stadium with noise, then we could intimidate the scum and have a chance to progress to the next round.

Absolutely. It’s been a fucking terrible 4 days and I get the feeling it’s going to get worse by this time next Saturday. I hope the players realise what they have tossed away for the fans today and do something about putting it right in the next couple of games. I don’t expect us to go through but a win in the next 2 would be good. Guardiola needs to shove a rocket up some of their arses and remind them what this is all about.

I would take the first team but set them up in a 4-1-4-1 formation. That team could still go all out, if the 4 behind Aguero (Sterling - Kdb- Silva - Sane) push deep into the scums half of the pitch.

The issue is the no away goals. Had we nicked one I'd give us a chance, but there's no chance we'll keep a clean sheet so we'll need 5 probably which I can't see happening

The first half was magnificent. It was the best since Hamburg easily.

Pep put out a side which should have scored half a dozen goals, he very clearly put out a side that was more than good enough to win, nothing was sacrificed.

You're complaining that Gundogan and Sterling missed 4 chances, and blaming it on Guardiola who set up the side in such a way that they created those chances, ever stop to think how stupid that is?
