" they do not accept the decision was arrived at for subjective reasons " - I might be wrong here, but doesn't the wording of that statement imply that they are claiming that the decision was as a consequence of a biased/corrupt decision by the officials in control of the game ?

Should the PL not be charging LFC for bringing the game into disrepute ?

or are cartel members exempt from the normal rules ?

Aren't there rules about making such claims or are LFC above such laws/rules ?
But if they don't accept the decision was arrived at for subjective reasons, then they must think it was for objective reasons, in which case, what's the problem? Do they know what subjective and objective mean?

Edit: just read @ChicagoBlue post above - seems like it wasn't a direct quote, so maybe it's CityXtra who need a dictionary!

I see the cult and their fawning media are in full deflection mode as expected. You got yer fucking shorts pulled you soft bastards. Hammered in fact.
Yes indeed. Ladyboy in the Fail today writes that City (and Scum) were very unusual in keep winning titles - I quote verbatim.... "teams such as City and - 15 years ago- Man Utd have skewed the way a modern generation of football fans view things. They expect dominance and continued excellence. But the truth is it is desperately hard to defend an English League title".

Cobblers.

And, fcek a doodle doo, not a word of praise for our 4 in a row ( and whisper it Scum x3 twice) all to make excuses for thislot, despite having spent a fortune making a right hash of it. Excuses, excuses and never their fault.

Fucking hell ive seen some weird takes on here but Gvardiol as a midfielder because we are uncomfortable with him in defence? the only time we have looked secure at the back anytime in the last 18 months is when he starts at CB he solidifies the whole defence, also he is nowhere near mobile enough to run a midfield he would look so out of place in there.
No, obviously not just because I don't like him in defence, but because I specifically do like him up the other end.

During those particularly depressing, toothless performances last season, he was quite often our most threatening player, with Haaland double- and triple-stacked in a tight area. He's good feet and knows where the goal is.

I agree that he's better at CB than at LB, but that's relative. He's often shown up against any pacy, fluid attack. Just my opinion.

EDIT: just checked - he's scored more goals than either Doku or Savinho, having played just one game more than Doku.

I’m not sure their goal was offside, as in, he was offside but barely interfering… but I’ve only seen it back at half time in the ground.

However, we were owed a decision against them after:

CL games 2018:
Salah was offside for his goal
David Silva was brought down (legs swept from under him), no pen given
Sterling was brought down (legs swept from under him), no pen given
Jesus was onside for that late in the second half disallowed goal that would have given us an away goal.
Milner hand balled it at our place, no pen given
Milner played the ball for the Sané goal meaning Sané wasn’t offside, goal disallowed for offside

Prem Oct18:
Agüero brought down, no pen given

Prem Jan19:
Sterling was fouled by Robertson, no pen given

Prem Nov19:
Alexander-Arnold hand-balled it, clear as day he looked at the ball and stiffened his arm, no pen given and they scored up the other end.
Salah was offside for his goal and VAR wasn’t even used.
Pep has even said that VAR ‘wasn’t working’ in the first half.
Mane pushed Sterling in the back, no pen given.

Prem Oct21:
Milner brought down Foden, no pen given.
Milner twice escaped getting a second yellow (both were bookable offences)

Prem Apr22:
No red cards for either Fabinho or Thiago (Fabinho’s could have been a straight red), then he avoided another yellow for a bookable offence challenge after the yellow he got when he should have been sent off

Prem Oct21:
Ref was letting minor physical contact go ALL game, we score a goal but they disallow it for a minor physical infringement in the build up but then allow four of the same instances of this go in favour of Liverpool throughout the rest of the game.

Prem Nov23:
Dias’ goal was disallowed for a ‘nothing’ infringement on their keeper, Akanji just jumped for the ball and happened to touch the keeper.

I’ve probably missed some…

Wasn’t there a dodgy one in the season we were going to the First Division title with them in 1977?
Do you keep a log or do you have a megabrain?

That felt like a statement of intent. We’re not there yet but we are much much better than last season. Intriguing that only Cherki and Donarumma were the only new players compared to the same fixture last season. Thought yesterday would be a good indicator of where we are and we certainly are heading in the right direction.

We still have a few spells of fragility, Salah and Gakpo should have scored and it was far too easy for Van Dijk for the disallowed goal, but we’re much sharper going forward and far less vulnerable on transitions.

Nico x2, Doku, Bernardo and Dias excellent yesterday. Gvardiol was good but still has a bad habit of giving the ball away needlessly. Nunes looks the part at right back but his concentration needs to improve. He switched off for Gakpo’s chance and I think he was the one playing Salah onside for his chance. Pity Haaland didn’t hit the century. Cherki was a bit too casual at times.

We seem to be cursed from the penalty spot against Liverpool (Mahrez, KDB,Gundogan and now Haaland have all missed). While we have beaten them in 2 penalty shootouts the last successful penalty I can remember was Anelka’s!
Mahrez pen rises in the West at GMT 03.15 tonight.

Am I missing something. Maybe the rule has changed again but I thought that the goalkeeper is not allowed to touch the goal frame.

Goalkeeper position and movement
  • The goalkeeper must be on the goal line, between the goalposts, and facing the kicker.

  • They must not touch the goalposts, crossbar, or net before the ball is kicked.

  • The goalkeeper can move along the goal line and jump, but at least part of one foot must be on, in line with, or behind the goal line when the ball is kicked.
Good spot that. The laws go on to say that this should result in a retake only if the action (in this case the goalkeeper causing the crossbar to vibrate as Haaland was preparing to take the kick) has a detrimental impact on the kicker. It probably didn't.

Well played City, that was a fully deserved result after a dominating performance.

That was a great week for us and showed me that we'll be contending for every trophy this season.

The shape, balance and consistency of the team is impressive so early in the season.
Added to that, we also have good depth now and if we can get Rodri healthy, then the sky's the limit.

As for the offside call, it was given on the pitch and as Robertson had to duck out the way from the ball hitting him, there's no way VAR was overturning that.

But for that incident to still be the main talking point today is just deflecting from what a schooling their beloved dippers got yesterday.

Fuck them anyway and again well played City!

I wonder how many ex-keepers are consulted when they work out the refereeing guidelines for something like this?

Does anybody honestly think that Donnarumma had time to look around at Robertson; calculate that he'd be offside and therefore unlikely to deflect the ball; turn back to the ball, refocus and still have a chance to reach it?

An earlier poster on here pointed out how Robertson sheepishly sloped off afterwards whilst the others were celebrating - tells you everything about what he thought was coming, and he had the best view.
