Am I missing something. Maybe the rule has changed again but I thought that the goalkeeper is not allowed to touch the goal frame.

Goalkeeper position and movement
  • The goalkeeper must be on the goal line, between the goalposts, and facing the kicker.

  • They must not touch the goalposts, crossbar, or net before the ball is kicked.

  • The goalkeeper can move along the goal line and jump, but at least part of one foot must be on, in line with, or behind the goal line when the ball is kicked.
Good spot that. The laws go on to say that this should result in a retake only if the action (in this case the goalkeeper causing the crossbar to vibrate as Haaland was preparing to take the kick) has a detrimental impact on the kicker. It probably didn't.

Well played City, that was a fully deserved result after a dominating performance.

That was a great week for us and showed me that we'll be contending for every trophy this season.

The shape, balance and consistency of the team is impressive so early in the season.
Added to that, we also have good depth now and if we can get Rodri healthy, then the sky's the limit.

As for the offside call, it was given on the pitch and as Robertson had to duck out the way from the ball hitting him, there's no way VAR was overturning that.

But for that incident to still be the main talking point today is just deflecting from what a schooling their beloved dippers got yesterday.

Fuck them anyway and again well played City!

I wonder how many ex-keepers are consulted when they work out the refereeing guidelines for something like this?

Does anybody honestly think that Donnarumma had time to look around at Robertson; calculate that he'd be offside and therefore unlikely to deflect the ball; turn back to the ball, refocus and still have a chance to reach it?

An earlier poster on here pointed out how Robertson sheepishly sloped off afterwards whilst the others were celebrating - tells you everything about what he thought was coming, and he had the best view.

Victims living up to their name.
all you heard on the radio today IF we went in 1:1 different game - they are simply trying ignore our second...even if they equalised they were so far off us we may have made it 2:1 and probably would have been a little more decisive first 20 of second half, we were far better side, even when we gave them the ball and let them come to us. There is no bigger bunch of c*nts then them lot. Such a bunch of knobs a lot of them, yet the media fawn all over these weirdos from Bristol and Northampton and Denmark......rags included. We shouldn't call then scousers as so many aren't but try and pretend its some badge of honour! rant over

I can't remember which clown it was after the game, think it was michael owen, sorry to him if it wasn't,
but some ex-dipper pundit said that there was no way haaland knew anything about the header, he wasn't expecting it and it came off the top of his head.
Some piece of fortune that, eh.

FWIW, I don’t think he meant it either! Haha. But he deserves every bit of slight fortune that comes his way.

Just no fuss about another subjective decision.

And Pep is innovative and influences the wider game. Fergusson was a pragmatic 4-4-2 guy whose influence beyond the rags was negligible.
What are the biggest teams that any of Fergie's ex-players have managed ?
Hughes managed City before the takeover and Steve Bruce has overseen Sunderland.
Don't think any of the others have managed big clubs ?
Already Arteta and Maresca are managing Arsenal & Chelsea...

That's a good stat. He didn't do the eye catching stuff but like Bernardo he put a fucking shift in.
Foden was like a Duracell Bunny yesterday.
He has regained that confidence to turn, change direction and move with ball so quickly.
He is also m, once again, trying to thread that killer pass, usually to Big Erl.
I hope he doesn't play for England this International Break, as the poor bugger looks to have also regained his fitness...
