Liverpool (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Carragher's analysis of the 1st goal is quite good. He pinpoints weakness in Konate and Van Dijk. Nunes had space to play the cross because Van Dijk didn't want to be out wide where he found himself, and the chance comes as Van Dijk and Robertson change places. This IMO is an example of how Van Dijk's lack of mobility is leading to chances and goals against Liverpool.

These fuckers know exactly what they’re doing. Kick up that much of a stink and the officials will be terrified to give a decision against them. Works every time

It will be if that is the result of their outcry, and will further demonstrate the impact PiGMOL has in affecting the outcomes of games,

I commented on this in MOTM thread yesterday, and it's not for the first time either that these 2 have done it.
I know he is likely to be off in the Summer but Bernardo has at least another season in him at this level.
He has been immense for us and has been as valuable to us as some of those with statues.
Hates scousers too.
The type of player that rubs off on those around him. Bit like Tevez

Also, they didn’t find themselves out of position by accident. We were pulling them all over the place.
Doku on the left, cherkie on the right, gonzo stuck in the middle
I’m sure there is a song there

That’s actually quite an interesting piece, spitty actually capable of decent analysis for once.

It’s not as simple as that though. Bernardo also moves when Stones scores last season.

The biggest difference is that Robertson is on the same side of the goal as where the ball goes, so I can see that there is more scope for him to be deemed offside.

Had we had the goal disallowed, the VAR/ref threads would be going berserk.

It’s one of those marginal decisions where you could justify both sides and not be wrong. I’m just glad it went our way this time.
Please stop this talking sense crap.... ;-)

Yes I agree, niggly little shit too (especially against certain teams), which I enjoy.

What are the biggest teams that any of Fergie's ex-players have managed ?
Hughes managed City before the takeover and Steve Bruce has overseen Sunderland.
Don't think any of the others have managed big clubs ?
Already Arteta and Maresca are managing Arsenal & Chelsea...
Arteta said the other day that Pep was the biggest influence on his career. Many players have said that, after playing for Pep, their whole thinking about football was transformed.

That guy in charge at Bayern has said the same thing.

Wonder if he’d ever consider moving his family to Manchester when Pep decides his race is run.

;)

His heart is in a village a few miles from Barcelona where he grew up but his love for Manchester is evident. He even likes our weather.

Looking at the highlights, Salah was offside when he received the pass that led to the corner that led to the disallowed goal. Funny how nobody has mentioned this despite the goal being forensically dissected frame by frame. Should never have been a corner in the first place.

Interesting - this is going to be their Rodri “handball” vs Everton moment for this season isn’t it - where they forgot about the offside.
