Liverpool (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

I’m in Tenerife and gutted to have missed it. Watched it with the Tenerife Citizens in Los Cristianos. Totally concur with your analysis. Doku was different gravy today. So deserved his goal.
Hopefully he will be happy with the honour which we will bisto upon him…

Gonzalez's game caught me and the Dippers midfield off-guard, I'm very glad to say. Not afraid to say I had my doubts and that he'd be overpowered by Mac Allister, Gravenberch and Szoboszlai. I said he'd need Rodri in the mid.

But, to my suprise, he became Rodri instead!! There was no real attempt to break the line with runs (which was my main fear), but he found space for simple passes or found players in space quickly.

So, in effect, the Dippers' mid had no one to press, except an extremely mobile Silva (thought he was back to his marauding best).

Very impressed, truly.

Haaland, 17 converted pens from 20 in the PL. That'll do me. Why do we expect a flawless record? From replay on MOTD, he hit yesterday's well. Credit the keeper who may have went early (edit: foot was behind the line on video evidence on Youtube)

It was a performance that could've graced any of Pep's title winning teams/seasons. Biggest compliment you can pay that collection of players.

We forget how young the likes of NOR, Nico G, Josko, Doku are. The ceiling of this team could be as special as anything that's come before it. Remember Rodri hasn't played, Marmoush and Ait Nouri haven't got going, Cherki only got a few games under his belt etc.

Seven out of our ten outfield players yesterday were under twenty three years of age. That certainly bodes well for the future if they keep progressing.

I always say players don’t even reach their prime until they hit 26. The combination of having built experience, quality, consistency, fitness, strength all coming together for about four years from then on.

Many of our lads are a few years away from that yet. Even by then Haaland, Foden, Donnarumma, will still only be 28/29 and still in their prime.

The only thing in the short-term, is that inconsistency is still a facet of players’ games until they reach their prime. So there could still be performances like Villa or Brighton in there from time-to-time, but you can see a lot of these lads growing and improving already, and long-term the future is bright.

Funny that VVD disallowed goal! Go back to the goal they allowed for us against wolves the media was arguing saying it should have been disallowed now they all suggesting that VVD goal should be allowed! Now this is what pisses me of with the media oh the radio media are just as bad they are hypocritical cretins! You either argue that both goals should been allowed or both though be disallowed, you can’t flip flop depending on who benefits
If the media cannot find conflicting views they invent them.

What stood out for me as something which probably seemed inconsequential but I liked it nonetheless. We were 3-0 up at the time and I think it was Foden, NOR and Nico G, where they were playing around the Liverpool players in a Rondo type drill. One touch passing and basically toying with them. It was great to see and I think shows that they're beginning to believe again.

Still think the Tarquins will get the job done this season but would love it if they imploded-just love it

They were looking at going nine points clear before our game until the last gasp Sunderland equaliser. If that win would have happened, even in spite of our win yesterday, they would still have been six points clear. Now its down to four. That and the way we destroyed Liverpool yesterday is bound to have their arses twitching a bit.
