Liverpool (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Why is it when a decision goes against the red scousers it’s a travesty and the media go all in calling it out, strange when decisions go against City or other teams it’s deemed as one of those things and it evens itself out over the season or just the shrug of the shoulders and get on with it ..
Yeah, imagine if Liverpool conceded a goal caused by an opponent pushing the goalie when he was in the air, making him miss his punch, like happened to us recently.

Liverpool players, fans, sports writers, pundits and all the other City haters are seething about the kicking City gave them. Gives me more joy than watching the game.Goal disallowed and penalty both straightforward descisions, but what about the nasty off the ball foul on Foden by that slimy Szoboszlai caught by the commentator but not by the officials? Nobody talking about that.

Fucking main news story on sly sports, they even had stuttering karveh, well, stuttering. Apparently the dippers haven’t complained for themselves but for the good of the game, bless em. Fucking help us at candlefield later in the season
Had greatest hits radio on in the car and it was on that too. No escape ffs. Christ, it’s relentless.

We have suddenly solved our fullback problem from within the Club. Nico O'Reilly has got something that can't be taught which is football intelligence and at such a young age, for Nunes the penny has finally dropped and he is turning into a more than capable attacking fullback.
Nunes is 27 but nobody until Pep has spotted that he is a natural wing back.

Fucking hell, when did a controversial sports decision become such fucking huge news? Answer, when it involves the candle wavers, last time an on field decision caused such a mass uproar was their game at spurs a couple of years ago

Not sure we can list Ait Nouri and Rjeinders as our best players.
I think Ait-Nouri's best chance is as some sort of attacking player. He's no defender. Looking like a squad player to me at best, but it's still very early days for him.

Then again, I'd also rather see Josko further up the park - I think he could be a genuinely world-class midfielder - whereas rarely a game goes by without him giving me palpitations in defence.

I still think that we haven't been tested properly in defence, that the UCL might find us out, but we're twice the team with Donnarumma and NOR in the lineup, so things definitely looking up. Really appreciating being competitive again.

Haha, this is about the 3rd rebuild Pep has made, this probably the biggest, I think you need to check the ages of some of these players.
Yep, rebuilds might be all at once or over a couple of seasons. Compare the team before and after.

Josko has been rather sloppy on occasions this year but CB is where he should be.

" they do not accept the decision was arrived at for subjective reasons " - I might be wrong here, but doesn't the wording of that statement imply that they are claiming that the decision was as a consequence of a biased/corrupt decision by the officials in control of the game ?

Should the PL not be charging LFC for bringing the game into disrepute ?

or are cartel members exempt from the normal rules ?

Aren't there rules about making such claims or are LFC above such laws/rules ?

Superb performance. Everything has been said about the brilliant individual performances (Nico G, NOR, Doku, Nunes, Erling, Bernie, Dias, Foden etc), but no coincidence that the confidence is high with the big man in goal. An absolute winner and other players started to believe more. We shouldn’t underestimate how big a signing that was.
Yup. The ‘one man team’ has winners at both ends. Donna just as important as Haaland.

You do realise we were way more direct, right? Not just passing side to side - there were plenty of forward balls. We’re playing much more direct now.
Yep. Playing direct at an increased tempo means you give away possession more readily. Risk and reward.

Absolutely this .... so glad I've been proved wrong about Nunes, he's been sensational lately and young Nico could well be England's first choice LB next summer. The positions he finds himself in, in the opposition box are outrageous.
Somebody had better teach him how to shoot!
