Liverpool (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Was thinking the very same today, they’ve got some neck moaning to pigmol.
Send that list to the BBC and Sky, I’m sure theyll happily run it all week for us.

The more they complain and cry the more it makes every other fanbase hate them even more than they already do. That raises the hatred and passion against them when they play away which is a good thing.
Robinson was not only offside and blocking Donnarumma's view, but by ducking he put him off. If he hadn't have ducked the ball would have hit him. Whoever they have complained to should tell them in no uncertain terms it was the correct decision and give them a warning for such a frivolous complaint.

That’s not just a lovely piece of possession football, it’s been designed on the training pitch. They’ll have practiced fuck out of it.

We went very narrow in midfield, using an even smaller “box” than we’ve seen sometimes in other seasons, pulling our wide players into the channel rather than holding width. This pulled the dippers’ midfield into a “bunched” shape and left huge spaces for our full backs (Nunes in this instance) to run into, Pep knowing full well that neither of the dippers’ wide players (Salah and Wirtz) have got a covering run in them and that would leave their full backs hugely exposed.

It’s absolutely superb from a coaching perspective. Slot had no answer to it.

Tony or Michael?

I’m sure if we had a goal like that disallowed at 1-0 Down at their place then this place would be arguing the other way. It’s football.

Ultimately we were better and deserved to win which most of the media I have read have acknowledged. The BBC have been gushing with praise the last 24 hrs which is unheard of!

The very definition of "team goal" right there.

I know he is likely to be off in the Summer but Bernardo has at least another season in him at this level.
He has been immense for us and has been as valuable to us as some of those with statues.
Hates scousers too.
The type of player that rubs off on those around him. Bit like Tevez
Not for me. He has been a fantastic player and character at the club and is a genuine leader but he needs to be replaced before next season.

If we keep him we'll regret it due to injuries, slowing down or lack of focus. It happens to all but very few players. It's not a slight on him but we need to move forward.

I would keep him just to play against the red tops he gets us and hates them :):):)

Shite performance overall. I thought it was good when leaving the ground but now it seems we only won because of an odd looping header from a bloke that misses penalties, a deflection and an incorrect VAR decision.
In fact the VAR decision was so bad I expect it to be added to the list of charges against us.
Nearly caught me there!

I'd try and keep him too, it's not like he's old for a modern day footballer and his intelligence gives us so much tactical flexibility.

Last season was poor, but so was everyone.

Yep against united

Watching that is so satisfying. Apart from the final ball, every pass is so simple, a product of pure coaching - and everybody buying into it.

During last season, there were times when either Bernardo or Phil were trying to whip everybody up, but one player (or even 2 or 3) just can't do it on their own.

Feels like that same team spirit is well and truly back now - Ruben's post-match interview showed how they appreciate each others' efforts.

Be interesting to know if that has ever happened before in a single passage of play ? Probably in Spain (Barca), Germany (Bayern) or maybe Brazil somewhere like that but has it been done in this country at this level ?
According to that greasy 'Stockport fsn' Oliver Holt in yesterday's fail match report something similar was done by Brazil in the 1970 World Cup Final. I watched that game ( young person) and have no recollection tbh.
