This all day long. Silva was pivotal to how we have played for a decade. The missing piece of the jigsaw needs to be found if we are to return to free scoring.

It's a bit worrying. We look slow and pedestrian compared to some sides. When we sign another forward we need a bigger, stronger option than all the small lightweight ones we have now. Plus points were Cancelo, the centre backs and Jesus back with a goal. Our midfield is a worry, too slow and

It was an excellent signing and I'm over the moon with him.

CBs who dont get noticed are not being noticed because they're reading the game brilliantly and dealing with

Wasn't a sitter and all forwards miss chances. He's not had many mins and scored 2 goals. He played very well today.

He did mate but header was a sitter for someone of his quality but I will say something about him though I have always said he is not good enough to lead our line but I’m starting to think I may have it wrong as that finish today was ours class .

The defence is indeed much better. I'm confident the goal-scoring will improve as Jesus and Aguero return.

Of course he didn't. However he picked the same duo to play centrally that weaken us every time. Conceded the midfield. Left ineffective players on the whole game when we had a game changer on the bench and when they were visibly struggling didn't drive us on for the kill. No use talking about other teams not going after the dippers when our own Manager won't himself.

So just as well the journalist didn ask stupid follow up questions.

That’s myopic. The missed penalty was one fleeting moment in a match that Pep couldn’t control. But the rest of the match is heavily influenced by his decision making pre and during the match. If Pep performed better the penalty miss could have been a total irrelevance to the result. By saying what you are saying, you are implying the entire match is set in stone, managers might as well not be there. That’s absurd.

We win 10-0 and you moan and call Pep out.

phil foden promise of game time to fill david boots would shine ? well its not happened yet and foden if anything has gone backwards in the pecking order ? maybe the carry on on international duty has flagged up doubt and trust with pep and city

For me it just feels like we're missing a sharpness.

The players look like they're at about 85% and quickly run out of gas.

He was just a bit too far toward the near post it makes the finish more difficult. The ref and kdb did for us really. That and pep flogging certain players to death. 2 crabs in midfield is at least 1 crab too many which doesn't help. Game was crying out for foden and sterling should have been switched to the right he was just running into players all game.

Happy enough with a point I suppose, but a big opportunity missed that. Defence looked good, but we badly miss the control and creativity of Silva in midfield. Great to see Jesus back, I think his close control and passing is excellent, but we cant get the ball to him enough without better creativity.
Were showing a bit more resiliance this season, drawing games instead of loosing, but need to go that one step further and turn them into wins.
And to hell with it, il just say it, theres a Messi shaped hole on the right of our front 3. What could have been.

Have you and the rest of the brains trust not considered that Pep is reluctant to use more substitutions because he knows there's 50% more injuries this season and most have happened towards the end of games?

Its not hard to work out. He doesn't want to get exposed and get left with 10 men.


When he had 5 subs he usually used them.

I was suggesting that his point is undermined somewhat by him not making use of 3 subs, let alone 5.

How many players have we actually had go off injured this season?

Nice to have a solid base to build on, but we need to start playing Bernardo in midfield every game to get us that energy and tempo, otherwise it will be a long old season

Not as easy as that. Bernardo produces nothing of note these days. He just runs around. Sterling is in shit form while KDB’s semi-fit and erratic.

Agree the defence looks much sounder though.

they're not better than us, we just continually shit the bed whenever we're presented the opportunity to take a big club mentality and dismantle rivals when it matters. The mentality of the club has declined rapidly in the last year and a bit. It started with the coach attack but since Vinnie left we've really nose dived.
