Liverpool (H) - Post-Match Thread

Bit like we’ve dismantled them in the last few years at the etihad?

we beat them last year when it didn't matter. When it mattered at Anfield we did our usual. We get to today when it matters and we need to make a statement after a sluggish start and we do our usual. We've beaten them once when it really mattered in the last 3 years, and that was with Vinnie, a Bernie and Dinho pressing midfield machine, Sane on the left, Raz on the right and Serg down the middle. Those days are long gone.

What did he actually say ?

The usual crap about Aguero past it. Keane taking the piss about him being overweight. Lost all our quality, the end is nigh. Don’t usually listen to it as had muted them during the game, just turned it up to listen to Pep and caught them rambling.

So only having 3 substitutes so far hasn’t effected us in any way, right?

Yes it has you absolute clown. If you cant make a change because you feel you need players on the bench to bring on for late injuries, its effecting you.

Please stop being an idiot.

Why the fuck do you think Guardiola is complaining?! You think he just fancies it for a laugh? He and Klopp and all the managers are complaining because it is effecting the way they manage the game.

Pep Guardiola: "Result 1-1. Tough game.
@LFC
started really well, runs in behind. It’s not easy - they are so fast up front with four players. After the penalty, we played much better and equalised. Tight game. Not many chances for both sides. One point

Pep Guardiola on Joao Cancelo: "He played exceptionally, with the ball and without the ball. When he is consistent, his focus is fantastic. He’s a fantastic football player.

Pep Guardiola: "I am very happy. I see players everyday, like many, many teams. That’s why. Now, hopefully they can enjoy the international team and come back safe, no injuries."

We are really in transition as a team. How can you replace David Silva, a fit Aguero and a player like Ferno and leader like Kompany. On top of that, I don't think any of the players are at full fitness. If we had really gone at them in the last 20mins, they would have picked us off. A draw was not a bad result. If we feel that Liverpool will win the keague this year, then remember, if we win our game in hand we are only 2 points behind them. We do need to buy a striker in January. Trouble is all the best strikers are in the CL with their current clubs. Just my thoughts.

True enough. How many of us *expected* Kev to score? I expected the opposite and guess what.

I also expected Sterling to be useless. Enough said.

Positives were Cancelo. And, er, Cancelo.
Plus the Diaz and Eric partnership, Jesus returning and we didn't lose against last seasons champs. Plenty of positives for me.

It’s nothing to do with late injuries. Pep doesn’t make many subs when the game is still “open”.

If we’d been 4 up after an hour, he’d have made all the subs he could, whether 3, 5 or 11.

Win the two games in hand and we're joint top with spurs. It's not all doom and gloom.

eh? We are playing 39 games?? Quality.. hadn’t realise that!

still won’t win the league playing like this though :(

Considering the talent out on the pitch today I thought it was a disappointing game. We look good in patches awful in others and that is going to continue throughout the season I feel. There's only Aguero to come back that can make any difference to our attacking game, we're desperately missing some creativity in there. Defence sorted, midfield and attack not.

Good game, a lot still left to play for.

I hope Pep's eyes have opened and no more Gundogan-Rodri, he plays shit and he turns Rodri to shit.

One defeat in the first 12 games in all competitions.

Surprised sky haven't highlighted that.

And as the poster above alluded to we win our game in hand and it looks better.

No need to panic, only 7 games played, just look at the top 3, as if these will be top at the end of the season.

Agreed, so why the heck does Pep not come out and sign the contract. Sets the future for the players, club and fans.
