Liverpool (H) | Post-Match Thread

The thing that struck me about the dipper fan stream reactions to the game, was that they acknowledged how good this City side is and how much better than the current Liverpool side?

The quality of the City team has become an accepted fact by fans, pundits and the media. There are still lingering vestiges of City Bingo like the "Emptyhad" and Shearer claiming City has the biggest squad on MoTD, when both proven to be untrue.

Had a bloke at work this morning proclaiming City have the biggest squad in the league and "could field three teams!"

I confidently said we do not. Went through the squad, adding in, Palmer and Lewis. Also stating the squad only has one recognised senior fullback. All I got was a groan and a shrug of the shoulders, and then "yeah, but you loaned out Cancelo." and we're much better for his absence, I said.

Must be a Geordie thing.....and every other **** who listens to the so-called pundits.

You quoted a teams fans still backing the team when losing 7.0...whose just lost 7.0 Einstein ??
The Rags emptied the away end at Klanfield during a drubbing just like they did at our place when we dicked them this season.
Not a great lover of Leeds but at least they stayed and backed their team at 7 nil down at our place.

Rags still hold the record for quickest emptying of an away end, Wembley 2011, not sure that will ever be beaten.

Watched the match back for a second time last night & I'm happy to report we were just as brilliant as we were at the Etihad & the first time I watched us back! :-)

My favourite moment of the match was KDB scooping the ball round the corner to Mahrez in the lead up to the Alvarez equaliser. Only Super Kev could've done that.

His speed of thought & accurate scoop completely wrong-footed Henderson & Robertson, & it was sheer perfection from Mahrez to Gundog onto Jack for Alvarez to score.

The three points were crucial, but it was the manner of the victory which speaks volumes. We've got zero wriggle room left & have to keep our pedal to the metal until the end if the season.

Still buzzing! :-)

The holding was barely a touch. Never a yellow in a million years, despite the dipper scum trying to get Rodders sent off.
Another thing. We were called up for offside immediately by the linesman. Liverpool were allowed to carry on until the action had ended. Not saying our calls were wrong but why the two different interpretation of the law in one game?
