A win is a must against these to put daylight between us. I think united will drop points against boro. Still pissed off about last night. My reflections as I drove into work this morning is surely the person in charge of player recruitment over the past 3/4 years must and deserves to be axed. In no other business would the disgraceful waste of money be tolerated by the EXec. City has the feel of an all too cosy affair for my liking.

When it doesn't happen it costs us time and time again as runners are not picked up.
(Compare and Contrast with Kanté and Matic sitting in front of Chelsea's back line).
I fully expect Liverpool to attack this weakness on Sunday.
I also fully expect Pep not to be successful with us till he deals with the issue - regardless of upgrades to the defence.

Gueye at Everton is also an awesome ball winner. Kante is the top man, but Gueye has even better ball winning stats. Would he fit Pep's style ? Surely he'd join us in a heartbeat ?

With Vinnie directing operations, no way would we have lined up for that free kick last night keystone cops style. He, like the rest of us screaming at the tv, would have seen that free kick coming in the way it did and probably positioned himself and others to attack the ball. Like Pique, Vinnie's always in the right place. When he doesn't play, who the hell directs operations at the back - the whole team actually ? I mean, if we get a similar free kick against Burnley or West Brom, there's a morass of defenders in layers making life hard for us.

You just know 'Big Nose' at the swamp will be rubbing his hands waiting to play against this back 4.
