Good call mate . Really don’t want Mahrez on that side as it would weaken us . In the big games against them when we win we have hit them down the sides and had success . Maybe I’d start silva instead of foden for his one and then bring foden on with 30 mins left to attack .Few headaches for Pep (Which is a good thing)
Ederson
Walker - Arguably the form of his life and has the pace to deal with Mane and Robertson's threat
Dias - See below
Laporte - Feel so much more assured with these 2. No need to play 2 defensive midfielders
Cancelo - Major dilemma here between him and Ake. I would have said Ake originally to help snuff out Salah and Trent's threat but after consideration I think we should gamble and go with Cancelo who is more of a threat going forward and adds an extra body on our left hand side when we push up. I'm sure Liverpool will be dropping deeper than usual so Cancelo could suppress Trent's threat as well as adding an extra dimension going forward
Rodri - I think he looks more comfortable on his own in that number 6 role. Big game and needs to control his area
Sterling on the Left - Obviously a threat with his pace and can help limit Trent getting forward. Can do the dirty work in tracking back as well
Foden - I'd shove him in the central area and I honestly believe he will be a thorn in Liverpool's side with his work rate, movement. He will be like an angry wasp in there
De Bruyne - Say no more
Silva - I'd put him on the right instead of Mahrez (although Pep, I'm sure will pick Mahrez) again his work rate is key and helps limit Robertson 's threat by helping out with defensive duties.
Jesus - If he's fit and ready. As well as Torres has done Jesus is a natural striker and his work rate and interchanging could be key
Having Mahrez and Torres on the bench can at least add something different and more pace and trickery if required.
They have a major weakness in my opinion from Trent Arnold and both centre backs whoever plays. We need to exploit this somehow and bombard them with numbers and movement . Just a shame Sergio wont be fit.
As much as their front 3 are dangerous I feel a lot more confident with our defence. Hopefully we can starve them of service and not leave many gaps
If he does he can do one as he knows it doesn’t work in the big games .Like that team mate but I'm convinced he'll play Gundogan and Rodri together
He can do one! How old are you?If he does he can do one as he knows it doesn’t work in the big games .
Great analysis. I feel like your last point is key, their front 3 is more clinical than ours. We could well dominate the ball, the goal chances and the dippers hit us on the break and bang 1nil salad. Then we have the problem of trying to fight back against a team who can hit us on the break, something we struggle with at the moment (ala Leicester city).Few headaches for Pep (Which is a good thing)
