Is it just me am i missing something here, all the reports say Navas agreed to come four months ago and the Fernandinho deal went on for what seemed an eternity with him tweeting almost daily how he wanted to join us so how have those two transfers been pushed through quickly. Fuck me id hate to see how long it would have took then without this so called leak given one deal was agreed back in January/

Sunday People: City have brought in espionage experts as they believe their worldwide scouting database was hacked by a rival club. #wtf

Sunday People: It is thought that the Navas and Fernandinho deals were pushed through quickly after City discovered the possible breach.

What in the world...

The reports involving Fernandinho and Navas are wide of the mark , there's 3 kids that we've been "beaten" too , 1 in particular that caused the situation to be looked at

It spears to me and not for the first time we seem to spend months courting a player only to lose out to another club who do little or no work but come in at the death and outbid us. Its just a story that i find uninteresting and bemusing. I just think any clubs competing with us will already be familiar with the emerging prospects and if were that concerned tighten the fuck up with security and start outbidding those that come in.

It is most likely to be an ex-scout login was not being deactivated.
Which leads to some interesting questions about City's cyber security (or lack of).
1. Why were logins of ex-employees not deactivated?
2. Why can one employee browse the whole database? (only Txiki should be able to do this.)
3. What access rights does each scout have? Surely only the players they are assigned to scout?
4. Who is reviewing user database activity?
5. What database security is in place?
5. Why is access not via Citrix (or similar) with LOCAL Citrix desktop printing disabled?

But I don't need any of this to lift every last bit of data stored in your network. It wouldn't be easy but if the above is your defence you're sitting in the wrong trench.
Well if those were only questions I have you would be right.

Has to be Utd or Chelsea. No other clubs in the premiership would be looking at players of the same calibre/price as us and therefore would have no need to 'know' what we were doing.

Very naughty if true.

This

I don't think this is the case. Any twat can 'scout' an Aguero or Silva on FM. the real value is in scouting the next Aguero and Silva as youth/lower league players and buying them for less than a million quid. This is what may have been compromised, and it harms our business long term.

If a club was proven to have committed this act then what would the punishment be ? I can't think of a situation that can be used as a comparison.

Would they be kicked out of the Premier League/Football league and have to start at the very bottom of the footballing pyramid?
Put it this way mate, Sheikh Mansour has a big interest in F1. I'm sure our top legal eagles would be able to put together a very good case.

McLaren have been excluded from the 2007 constructors’ championship and fined US$100 million following Thursday’s FIA World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) hearing in Paris.

The penalty follows McLaren’s admission that the team was in breach of the International Sporting Code through their possession of confidential technical data belonging to rivals Ferrari, who are now all but assured of the 2007 constructors’ title.
