Liverpool Post Match Thread

Poor set up by Pellegrini - the 2 man midfield with Yaya should be consigned to the bin. Not sure if Otamendi and Fernandinho just weren't ready after the international break but the back 4 looked risky even before kick off. Did Klopp out tactic Pellegrini or was he helped by the injures to Sturridge and Benteke meaning he had to play extra midfielders and therefore our 2 man mid set up helped him even more.
Having said all that about Pellegrini, what can you do if you're him about Mangala's og ? Totally beyond comprehension how he passed it into the bottom corner. Could he also legislate for MDM's fuck up for the second goal too ? Sagna and Mangla both had stinkers and it may be that events in Paris last weekend affected them more than anyone could anticipate. Yaya Toure...when a player's bad games start to become commonplace and the good ones few and far between it's time to bench them. Sterling - I am really not convinced by him and never have been. Seems to lack 'belief'. Doesn't leave it all on the pitch either, for my money. The players did not turn up today and there was no one to organise or lead and they were outfought and outplayed. Shocking lack of commitment and fight all round. We should not be made to look so shit by a team whose main tactic is to press and hunt in packs.

Everything about the club from the facilities to the players is World class except for the management team. It is absolutely bizarre that we haven't hired one.

Not sure about world class players to a tee.

Other than maybe KDB we are still reliant on the players who have been at the club for a number of years and its early days for him as well to make a proper assessment of.

You could certainly argue that the management team doesn't get the consistency and type of performance we would expect in the main but until we find a better one we are stuck with what we have.

One thing I can't understand is why some fans are so concerned with what other fans are saying on a forum. Why do you care? How are your thoughts not exclusively on the raping we just got at the hands of Liverpool? I will never understand these people. No matter how much money we spend, or how badly our season is going, their first thought is always toward policing attitudes on this forum.

Can't relate to this mentality at all.

I've seen better performances under the Pee-Arse regime. I could have sworn before kick off that the Ardwick Hippodrome had long ago been demolished.

The world and his dog knew how the Dippers would set up today. Dortmund in red.

And why do we not make a serious challenge until they are a yard or so outside our penalty area.

Pellers cocked this one up before kick-off.

Unless we play teams who stand off, allow us to play, and all goes well with our 'stars', we seem bereft of ideas as to how we go about carving out the three points.

Ordinary teams, with little attacking threat, can negate our cutting edge ever so simply. Any team with a counter threat near have the three points put on a plate for them. If Pellers is not gonna address opposition threat during the week and puts all his eggs in the City attacking juggernaut basket, then the game is up.

Mancini would not have lost that 1-4!

What's happened to our mentality? We used to be so strong, so resilient. We're mentally weak now, it's very concerning. Southampton have the players to turn us over next weekend too if we're going to continue with our tactics of not giving a shit.

Erm......Haven't you just contradicted yourself?

WTF, has happened to our passing ability ? We were woeful in that department today.
Even when under no pressure, players were trying to thread the ball through non existant
gaps or those about the size of a gnats japs eye. I'm glad Yaya felt refreshed after the break,
because i'd a fucking hate to see him, if he was knackered ;-). Not to rest the blame solely on him,
though. But that set up fucking stank from the first minute.

Hey ho. Bring on Juve ;-).

KDB and Sergio did OK, as did Dino & Delph in the second half, but overall it was abject, inept and abysmal in equal measure.
MP has watched us be overrun in midfield time and time again when it's Yaya and one other in the middle so why the fuck did he select that team against opponents that were always going to play a pressing game? OK, he didn't expect the defence to be auditioning for It's a Comedy Fucking Knockout but they were always going to be under pressure as he offered no protection.
Ah but KDB, Navas, Sterling and Aguero would be tearing them a new one at the back. Not if we haven't got the ball they bloody won't.
Couple of good saves from Hart to keep the score down and Sergio's goal was a cracker. Other than that it was pretty much shite.
Oh before I forget. The female steward with the face like a smacked arse in 234 should consider relocating to the North Stand where she can scare little children. It's a fucking football match and swearing is something that happens at football matches.
And screaming "Is there something good on the telly" and "Is your tea going cold" isn't an offence when it's screamed at the fire drill merchants.
