Liverpool - post match thread.

Spot on.

We can have the best defense in football but it counts for nothing when we miss so many chances. Its really is ridiculous. This is the reason we are not top of the league and out of the CL. Even if we made it to the CL final this year, we would probably miss a few sitters and lose the game. Its unbelievable and is driving me crazy. I thought it would improve by now, but it seems its only getting worse. Boro game as well. Should of scored another 5 goals really. Monaco game missed a few sitters and now we are out despite being the better team. Same story in many games this season. We are the better team and outplay the opponent, only to lose or draw because of missed chances. I am sick of it really. We missed TWO PENALTIES vs Everton, two, how shocking is that. I don't remember the last time any team missed two penalties, let alone a top one. This team will never win anything if we need 7 chances to score one goal. This is one thing that separates the best from the rest. Chelsea are top of the league because when they get even the smallest chance at 1-1 or 0-0 they convert and win the game. Something needs to change.

I thought it was a good game to watch and both sides had chances, none easier than theirs that was easier to score than miss although we still should have scored in the penalty shout move.

We played ok. Not brilliant but ok. Passing was poor at times and finishing once again not good enough. Good to come back though and the tactical move worked this time although Sagna was absolute crap when he came on, almost putting them in twice! De Bruyne is better where he can put crosses in as once again he wasn't that good in the middle.

We are easy to get through at times and the inevitable defensive fuck up for the goal.

Thought Fernandinho was much better than he has been recently, Stones did well, Silva played well and Willy made some good saves although way to slow to distribute at times.

Got to start winning at home though.
Why on earth does Pep keep playing Sagna he is/was atrocious , have we not got anyone better than him?

Fantastic response by the team after midweek shock. Everything against us once again, morale, physical condition, ref decisions. After all this, most teams would have surrendered following the 0-1 in the beginning of the 2nd half. It took a lot of guts to maintain our composure and keep on fighting, City came from behind once again and claimed the victory till the very last moment, against a fresh team, by far superior in terms of energy. We deserved it, I'm sad for the boys, they gave everything. Calm decisions from the bench, Guardiola tried to control the game, help the team attack while being as secure as possible at the back. He tried to improve our ballance while seeking the winning goal till the final whistle, all his actions justified...

Just listening to the manager's short post match interview. One of the happiest days in his managerial carreer he says, proud of his players. Completely agree, I would shake everybody's hand if I could be in the dressing room...

By the way, if I remember well, the prematch thread reflected anything but confidence and optimism. Now I read posts saying draw is not enough. Yeah... Well guess what, Guardiola and players agree, they never settled for a draw and did everything they could to win. Just seems they're not good enough to deserve some people's appreciation and support, are they? A shame really...

City fans should be proud of their team. Personally I was once again moved, watching City playing is really an experience...

PS. Lost for words to describe Kevin's assist. He deserves much much more, his stats should be better, if only we were more clinical. I'll say it once again, if he believes in himself he can become the best player in the world...
PS2. Had we converted the Leroy - Sergio combination, it would be the goal of the decade. World class play...

Bang on the money, the pre match thread was a thing of beauty, Kev had a decent game today, the back four did a job with John S outstanding, midfield Spanish Dave is like a new player such is his work rate, YaYa dropped off the edge gas wise, Sterling for me had a good game, Sane same, Sergio well he's either in beast mode or not, that lad has more fucking credit in the bank than anyone.

For me as I posted earlier that was a proper dig in game, fuck the circling vultures

His all round play was ok but like you say, his finishing wasn't great overall as it hasn't been all season.

Maybe not but other players need to start scoring. When you look around the sides around us be it Hazard, Alli, Firmino, Giroud other sides have an alternative to the main goalscorer.

Sterling has chipped in with 6 which I think, based on oppirtunities, he should have scored more and Marcus Alonso and Cahill have weighed in with more than KDB snd Silva which is frankly poor from them two.

Yes I apologize for that glaring omission.
Went on 5 dead a good few years back on one of his phone ins true this, he was going on about a load of shite concerning us so i phoned up admittedly after a few sherberts.Anyhow I had the fucker back tracking on what he'd said so he just cut me off in mid sentence as he knew he couldn't answer the question because what he'd spouted on about was a load of shite.

Very poor from the latter two with their quality. I agree. Sane has weighed in recently but the others have been poor.

we are aiming for that though. its going to take time, but i think its much better to have the young attacking wingers we have now, then buying ready made world class.
Good to have in the squad, not good enough for the starting line up. They make far too many errors and give the ball away quite frequently. They have talent to be world class but they aren't yet, and to compete with the top teams we need them to be world class right now.

We were lucky Liverpool missed some of their chances from breaks... the number of missed blatant (from where I was watching) offsides is hard to explain.... the Lino on the South side of the pitch 2nd half was so far behind the game it's untrue
Both teams were lucky, it was an even game tbf.

He wasn't in the first half how many times did he give us offside, too many?
