Liverpool Post Match

How many times before MP clocks on that 442 gets mauled against the top teams? Yaya, Nasri & Silva isn't going to cut it defensively against the best who generally play with a central midfield 3.

Defence was exposed so badly today, midfield bypassed far too often with one or two passes and we were moving the ball so slowly.

The second half performance was a joke. Liverpool considering their lack of preparation completely out played us. The lack of urgency throughout the second half and even more shockingly after their second goal was desperate to watch.

The defence is woeful 6 City players around the ball when Coutinho scored not one closed down.

It was a shambles. No desire and that comes from the manager. We have been off the boil all season and today was the icing on the cake. Bar Roma away we have not been at it.
Some pathetic performances in all 3 Cups and the League this season.

Heads will roll. Players and manager. I cant believe we bought Bony and don't play him yet managed to wreck the morale our forwards in the process. As for Kompany, he just doesn't seem interested. Lots of problems!

Ive just walked in as i had to go out with the kids this morning so missed the game.

Really that bad?

Is it still a 2 horse race, or is there now Chelsea, and a 5 horse race for the next 3 slots?

The latter. The title is over. We don't deserve it anyway and what are the chances of us winning 11 games on the bounce with this defence.....none

You can only get away with jockeying against shite teams as they will inevitably keep giving you the ball back. Against decent teams you MUST TACKLE, we have hardly made a tackle in the last 2 games. This is the real issue, we don't hunt the ball down and only seem to get back in possession on turnover of play.

I really don't know how anyone can be surprised. The signs were there and the manager confirmed it all with his selection. Take out the Stoke game and we haven't been on it for ages (given a lesson by Arsenal, Mourinho played it safe, Newcastle very poor, Barca lesson.......etc etc). Mistakes by the manager, key players injured or not performing, no bottle, underestimating opponents...........the list is endless. Champions go and win in games like today. Not good enough. I won't say I told you so because I got banned for that last year after this same game, but I just knew this would happen, sorry.

Newcastle very poor? are you fucking high??!!!. The problem arose as soon as we took Dzeko out and went to 4-5-1.
We won it because Newcastle were poor, get with it.

Can't type too much again because partly lost for words at this shambles. I've defended him before and he has occasionally had good moments. But today even more than the Barca game showed his tactical ineptness.

He got all his tactics wrong from the start, all the other teams have caught on to his early aggressive style but he continues to stick with it. Once again just like the Barca game the ball bounced their half to ours without any of play from our midfield.

In the Roma game we were successful because we started a strong midfield when the other team wanted to attack.

Since then he's not done this very consistently leaving defense wide open to getting attacked down the middle. And then he brings on Nando when we need to score goals? We can't keep blaming all of the players every time, you push out Nasri and Silva wide when we need them to create chances down the middle. What the hell is he thinking!

Some players looked sluggish, but it's up to the manager to give the players a chance to get a good performance in. He needs to go.

Did he bring on Fernando today and I missed this somehow?

He didn't. He wanted to bring him in at 1:1 but when they scored he introduced Bony.
