As a Red Sox fan I can tell you that John Henry, while not perfect, is on a different planet to Tom Hicks in terms of ownership, investment and fan-friendliness.

Thanks. So as I suspected, the OP is a little premature.

Yeah, they haven't been sold yet, personally I would like to see the Premier League reject the proposal, and watch Liverpools 'Great Loyal Fans' slowly start to disappear, as they start drawing at home to fulham, losing away to bolton etc etc. All the dippers are protecting them, every time they lose to blackpool or draw to sunderland it's a one off, but believe me they have to face up to the facts- it's a reality.

If i was liverpool fans i wouldnt be getting excited at this. It seems like a case of out of the frying pan and into the fire. This guy has less personal wealth than them 2 and also has interests in other sports teams.

His personal wealth is estimated at around 860m dollars so generously around 750m pounds. If he was to build a new stadium and buy new players it would wipe out his personal fortune cant see him doing that

What, you wouldn't be getting excited twice? :P

This would be the same thompson that stated that signing joe cole on a free was the best bit of business of the summer and that by signing him and with gerrard and torres staying they would claim back their top four place with ease
