Liverpool Takeover (Merged)

Re: Liverpool Red Sox

It will be interesting to see how this plays out... the shareholders seem.to have rejected the offer whilst anti-hicks/gillette members of the board are trying to force it through. If I had the time I'd look at their articles of association to check out how they're run but I'm too busy at the mo.

They still can't buy till January (and even then we know how expensive that can be) so the Liverpool fans should keep their babysham on ice

Re: Liverpool Red Sox

So funny this, once he has bought the club how will he improve it as another poster as stated he can't afford to get a new stadium for them and new players unless he borrows !!!! bwahahahahahahaha

After all the the smoke clears and everything settles down the one thing I want to know is will they have any financial clout in the transfer market ?

Nope. This guy has no money. I'm a Yank baseball fan and I can tell you that.

Rest assured, this guy is as broke as their current owners. He's a better manager but will invest squat in the transfer market or stadium.

I wish I was 'broke' with a net worth of $850m!!

Re: Liverpool Red Sox

Does anyone know what % of shares G+H have?

Surely the board can't sell the club underneath them if they have the majority share?

So what you're actually saying is, the new owner will have to borrow money to buy the club (let's estimate £400M) and then borrow money to buy players (say £100M).

That sounds like a perfectly prudent business plan to me

Well he isnt exactly the Sheikh and consider what would happen if he did spend big on players when the FFPR are in place.

They have missed the boat and that might explain why this guy bought at the bottom of the market?

Interestingly as well is that no MIddle Eastern money has been in any way interested so perhaps our Sheikh will remain the only person from that region in the prem'?
