Let's try to keep the Islamophobia out of the thread, please. Rational discussion is fine, anti-Islamic generalisations are not.
CCTV of it here
Have a watch of how easy it was for comedian, Simon Brodkin, to get close to Trump:
If a comedian who does a lot of pranking (seen his Sepp Blatter one and the City one n’all?!) can get that close to the then President of the USA, just imagine how easy it is for people moving in secret and protected circles to get close to their targets.
That the SISs shut down any terrorise attacks at all is a credit to them, never mind the amount they do shit down.

It doesn't help when people in official positions say things like this (from bbc.co.uk) ...Goes to show how much misinformation spreads on social media, I was under the impression he got out and locked them in, had no idea he was still in the car.
What sick person goes to bomb a hospital it’s mind boggling. The quick thinking of the taxi driver is a miracle.

"Joanne Anderson, the mayor of Liverpool, confirmed to BBC Radio 4's Today programme that the taxi driver involved prevented an "awful disaster" through heroic actions.
She said it was known he had got out of the car and locked the doors before the explosion happened - but she did not want to get drawn into further speculation."
Reading reports he initially asked to go to the Anglican Cathedral. Roads were blocked so changed it to the city centre. Driver became suspicious on seeing him 'messing' with something lit up on his clothing.
Supposedly from family of the driver.
I would assume the scumbag in the back was already brown bread after the explosion considering he had it strapped to him. Just very lucky the car hadn’t blown up then too so the taxi driver could jump out.Whether she intended to mean that he got out before the explosion is a matter of interpretation of that non-quote, and she may have been told it in exactly those ambiguous words.
Frankly, I don't think it matters much - the main two facts appear to be correct. Top work from the cabbie.
I don't agree that the quote is misinterpretable but like you said it's of no great matter in the grand scheme of things.Well, from the video he did get out of the car, and presumably did lock the doors.

Takes some bottle to run towards something like that.Fair play to that guy that comes from the red car to in the illuminous jacket who just runs straight towards the car to try & help the driver
Impossible to stop every single attack without destroying every single civil liberty in the country and even then they can’t stop lone wolf attacks.Terrorist attacks should be prevented, it's their job.

He didn’t, you can see that from the video. Thankfully he got very lucky though. If it's true that the taxi driver had prevented the bomber from getting into the hospital he deserves a knighthood.
Seriously, the bloke deserves a knighthood for that. The ultimate example of taking one for the team when I wouldn't have blamed him if he'd gotten out of the taxi and done a runner instead.Over £13k raised so far for this absolute hero.
