Liverpool Thread 2011/12

Re: Liverpool Thread 2012

Proof positive that the dippers were right all along: the whole Suarez thing was simply down to a cultural misunderstanding and that there's no such thing as racism in the colourblind utopia of Uruguay:

Qualified apology of the week

Uruguay: Central Español reacting after their fans threw bananas at Progreso's Jorge Rodríguez, chanting "fucking black monkey": Central statement: "[Rodríguez's] confrontational style, shown in his unsporting behaviour when he deliberately provoked Central fans, as he did earlier this season, and in the physical aggression against our player Souza, in no way justifies such insults."

They are truely bananas if they are comparing us with them. We finished 3rd last season missing out on second place on goal difference. I cant ever see Liverpool getting near that level for a long long long time.

Also for me they are rivaling the Rags as a team that I fucking hate now. Since Kenny took over the fuckers have been diving about cheating cunts and getting away with it time and time again. Its the nasty side that I just cant take with those bastards. Granted were no saints but they take it to a new low.

Re: Liverpool Thread 2012

Well that's them effectively out of the battle for fourth, who would have thought that the mediocre mid table players king kenny signed would fail so miserably?

I do like a read of rawk after a loss for them. I think the penny has dropped with most of them now that they aren't gonna cut it and kenny's blown a load of money on complete and utter shite. I actually think they had a pretty decent squad when they went there, one that with the £100 million or so quids worth of talent on top should have been challenging for the title. Unfortunately £80 million of that was spent on Carroll, henderson, downing and adam and now they won't even make fourth

Commoli was giving it the big one after the league cup final that they had big players interested in joining them in the summer, but now he's just said that they will only sign one or two players. Will be interesting to see if he's just saying that as a smokescreen or whether the new owners will be less reluctant to spend from now on, as there's a chance that they invested heavily at the start of this season thinking that they'd get top four and they wouldn't have to invest so heavily again. If they have any serious hopes of making the CL again then they might well have to spend big again

Can they even afford to with FFP if they miss out on CL again?

Without CL football,it will be a major task to bring in the talent required to get where they want to.

I'm sure they can. Their turnover is still up there and I don't think they spend as much as us on wages

I agree with that, but I doubt they'll be able to afford to splash as much as £100 million again this summer if they don't make top 4.

Yea I can't see that happening. I think that their owners spent so much last summer thinking that they'd get CL. Gonna be interesting to see how they play it this time. If I were them I'd get what i can for downing, carroll and adam and try to put the cash together for a quality striker and creative midfielder
