Im sure they were ramming "if the league started when Kenny took over they would be top" last year...

To right they did, deluded sods hehe.

We should document such claims for future ram it down their necks'ability :)

kenny already looks like a man on the verge of a nervous breadown. he hasn't spoken a word of sense in an interview for months and always looks confused when asked even the simplest question. the golf course beckons once again.

Re: Liverpool Thread 2012

While Liverpool, and Dalglish, are clearly easy targets with their league form, don't forget that, to date, they are the only English club guaranteed European football next season at the present time.

They are also in a winnable semi-final of the FA cup, and they could realistically win both domestic trophies this season.

And that's a bad season is it!

Fuck me. We waited 35 years for a trophy and we're laughing off Dalglish winning a trophy (and possibly two) in his first full season!

How funny will RAWK make of our posturing if we win nowt and they win the two cups! Let's not give them the ammunition..!

Nice wind-up.

So you'd rather finish 8th or 9th, win a couple of cups and play on Thursday nights than finish in the top 2 and win nothing?

Of course not. We have far higher expectations in the Premiership than Liverpool have.

All Liverpool ever aspired to was 4th. We aspired to 1st.

So if the scousers fail to make top 4 and finish 7th. or 8th. it means nothing in terms of European qualification as they are already there.

And if they do win two Cups this season (in Dalglish's first full season) that's a hell of an achievement.

However if we finish trophyless, and 2nd., we've had no better a season that Arsenal in third, or Spurs or Chelsea in 4th.

It's ALL about winning things. I always thought you were in the camp that saw success as trophies? Or is this post another one of your cheeky wind-ups!

;-))

Double edged sword mate...From 5 major European trophies to possible 2 domestic trophies and no title for 20 years..thats looks like regression to me..With FFPR set to impact soon its the money from the CL that is needed, not shiny trophies in a cabinet...they are a big club on the wane whereas we are on the up..

CL qualification is vastly more important than the FA & league cup.. they need better players but are in danger of losing players with no CL football on offer.

I really don't get this argument that, for Liverpool, it is far more important for them to qualify in 4th. place rather than win the two domestic trohies.

If they qualify for the Champions League, that means they will get more money. And with more money they will buy better players. And the better players will win them trophies. What trophies?

No matter how much they get from the Champions League they will STILL have far less money than City, United or Chelsea (or even Arsenal).

So they're unlikely to win the Premiership. Or the Champuons League. Which leaves the FA Cup and Carling Cup.

Which they might very well win without the Champions League money!

PB asked if I'd rather we'd finished outside the top 4 but win both domestic trohies... or win nowt and qualify for the Champions Leagiue.

Well, at least in the short term, I'd plump for the trophies.

The record books don't show balance sheets... and if they did ours might not make very good reading compared to Liverpool's!
