Liverpool Thread 2012/13

Their Tevez thread in the transfer forum lasted about 5 posts, (4 of which said they had no chance) before getting locked.

Everyone who has a pop at the mods on here should be forced to go on rawk for a day. It's run like North Korea.

Just been looking at the Machester City thread. Lot of talk about us paying over the odds for players this window. Of course no mention of...

Andy Carroll 31 January 2011 35,000,000 Newcastle United
Stewart Downing July 15 2011 20,000,000 Aston Villa
Jordan Henderson 9 June 2011 16,000,000 Sunderland
Charlie Adam July 2011 7,500,000 Blackpool

That's because Liverpool fans don't like to talk about their history

If only that were true :-)

My obeservtions from looking at RAWK...

You get the sense from a lot of Liverpool fans that they're quite bitter. In the 70s and 80s they were arguably the biggest British club on and off the pitch. United were always second to Liverpool yet United (and then Chelsea and City) aquired investment and developed their brand and Liverpool stood still. Liverpoool are now sat in a sub standard stadium with owners who are reluctant to invest and are going through one manager after another without threatening the top 4. They still have a lot of fans nation wide - unfortunately they're the same type of plastic fans that support United who don't go to matches. They're now complaining that FFP isn't being enforced and they're wondering why top class players aren't attracted to them. It's all a bit of a shame really

The one thing it isn't is "a bit of a shame".

I am enjoying every slow, lingering minute of their fall from grace.

The only shame of it is that it could have been United. That would have felt even better ;-)

Me too! If there is one club I will enjoy watching their slow, lingering fall from grace then its them! Hopefully, not too slow though ;-)

Re: Liverpool wont win League unless UEFA change finance rules

How the worm has turned since the 70's/80s ....

and Liverpool are feeling it more than most ......

not only struggling to compete on the financial front , but also facing the prospect that Suarez could be leaving .... who's gonna score their goals then ???

Still .. they have a bit of history , maybe that will help them ..... doesn't appear to be the first thing on Suaraz's mind though , does it ?

They thought it was forever, just like United fans, nothing lasts for ever even when you try and fix things to try and make sure it does, it never works

Can't see them ever getting into the top 4 again to be honest
