deluded scouser on talkshite this morning talked up carroll for the new season and said that downing would come good. oh dear.
At least Micky Quinn hasnt been tipping them for the title yet, last year was embarassing

He's been telling everyone who will listen that last year the league lied. I used to think no one was as bad as Irani but Micky Quinn is the most deluded fuckwit on talksport.

Love how Rodgers was saying how Liverpool fans are going to be really excited by their new signing then the news broke that it was an italian who nobody had heard of!

I wonder if lawro will get a backbone this year and actually predict a liverpool loss...

I wont hold my breath mind.

Jeez, Quinny is a great bloke, his job is to keep people listening, hence why he say what he says.

Animal lovers, the jockey club and the RSPCA would disagree.

Mick Quinn's racing career is in tatters after he was banned from training for two-and-a-half years.
An allegation that the former footballer had neglected three horses in his care last winter was upheld at a Jockey Club disciplinary hearing yesterday.
The suspension was welcomed by the RSPCA, which had passed on the case after a complaint from a member of the public that Winsome George, Arab Gold and Zola were emaciated and suffering from rain scald to their coats in a paddock close to Quinn's Wantage stable in Oxfordshire

Why are all Liverpool fans and parts of the media now acting as if Rodgers is some sort of tiki-taka wonder manager when he hasnt brought it to any team he has ever managed. How can you be so delusional

Good point. No doubt Rodgers did a very good job of continuing where Martinez left off but can he do it from scratch at a different, much bigger club?

Previous to Swansea, I'm not sure but how did Rodgers' Watford and Reading teams play in his brief spells there? I'm assuming it wasn't quite so easy on the eye as it was at Swansea?

Good point & was having the same discussion with someone last night. It takes a manager a few seasons to get the right players playing the style he wants. Rodgers inherited a lot from Martinez so it will be interesting to see how he does starting virtually from scratch at a bigger club. He's nothing much to inherit from King Kenny, that's for sure.

I heard that Carroll to Newcastle is a done deal for £16m

Good source?

If true, I reckon Newcastle are having a right good laugh at Liverpool, Selling Carroll for £35m and buying him back just over a year later with a profit of £19m...
