Tough group. Rodgers would have to play full strength teams to get through that one.

Interesting thing Rodgers is doing for us:

- Starting a 17 year old over his 20m winger and threatening to turn him into a BACKUP left-back.
- Starting Coates over Mr. Liverpool, Carragher.
- Subbing Leiva with Shelvey instead of Henderson
- Hawking Carroll
- Adam and Spearing nowhere near the bench, probably will basically be given away for free.

He's making a statement for sure. Damn, when I think that Downing and Carroll ALONE cost about the same of the entire XIs of Newcastle or Swansea it's just unfortunate. Our scouts are a disaster, hope our signings are better with Rodgers.

I honestly think they could have been title contenders last year if they'd played their cards right, unfortunately for them kenny blew whatever amount of million on carroll, downing, adam and henderson. Now they're paying for that as they can't sign proper players cos kenny blew the kitty. Only time will tell how many years his horrific management will prevent them from getting anywhere

Not defending king kenny in any way shape or form, but i do wonder how much of a say he had in buying that dross...what was the influence of the ex spurs director of football..he was sacked before kenny was last season..i reckon he recommended the players to the us owners and kenny just went along with them.

remember reading somwhere that the u.s owners were checking out Downing doing some tricks with a football on you-tube and were impressed. enough to sign him up....YCMIU

A serious question for the Mickeys on here tonight; with the benefit of hindsight, what do you think of the signings King Kenny™ brought in during the second coming? Most fans of other clubs can clearly see that he bought in a load of what turned out to be shite (Adam, Henderson, Downing, Carroll) but because it was KK, it seems the bulk of the scousers just couldn't bring themselves to dare criticize him. He squandered a hell of a lot of money.

What is going on at Liverpool they only have one proven striker in Saurez in there squad, and have let a 35 million pound striker go out on loan. No CL football for them this season.
