Thing is, Manchester and Liverpool are very similar cities and have an awful lot in common. I've spent many a happy night out in Liverpool and think its a great place to go.
And I agree about the accent! Historical nerdy fact; people in Liverpool had a strong Lancastrian accent before the Industrial Revolution. The accent changed dramatically as Liverpool's port boomed and people from North Wales and Dublin arrived to find work and stayed in the city.
There is absolutely no similarities between the two Cities save they are both in the North West, they are two very distinctive Cities with very different histories and even culture
You 'absolutely' sure about that?
So both are not world-famous English provincial cities famous across the world? What about the music, the literature and art that came from both? Or maybe the fact that both cities have been built on immigration, particularly Irish? Or maybe, apart from London, you could give me the name of an English city that has as much political history as Manchester and Liverpool?
No, nothing in common then.
