Fun fact: Usually the EPL club top of the table by Christmas has won the trophy in the last four seasons. However the last team to top it by Christmas and not win were Liverpool 2008-09 :p
the last 3 times they've been top at Christmas they've failed to win it.

I strongly suspect any release clause for no CL football won't start until the end of 2014/15 season. His salary remains the same until that season so I imagine that's when clauses will kick in.

Hoping we've got a clause in there about ill advised media outbursts

What does that have to do with Suarez' contract clauses...ya know, the ones I was talking about...you've quoted that and then posted something about Aguero signing a new contract then leaving? Makes no sense...

I guess the point your making is that Suarez could still leave, I assume the department of the bleeding obvious has finished early for the day??? ;-)

No I am just pointing out that if a player wants to leave then how long ago a player signed a contract is irrelevant. In fact if you think about clauses in contracts mean little (Aguero was reported as having negotiated a lower release clause but with add-ons we will have paid the previous one anyway), if the no CL release clause isn't activated it doesn't mean Suarez would say fair enough and stay for another season, he could just spend the summer like Bale did. I was replying to you not the content. The fact remains that if Suarez gets the chance to move to a bigger club, he is likely to take it. I could easily see him at the Bernabeu if Real come calling, if Messi really does leave Barca then he would be a viable replacement.

I think the likely destination for Suarez is Barca, and yes I do think it will be to replace a certain Argentinian ;-)

Just been on RAWK...

Jesus fucking Christ, they should have won 4-2, they're "an organic entity" and we're "just a false oil club", the ref cheated them out of it (obviously missed Skrtel trying to take Kompany's shirt off his back every corner) and they are "LIVERPOOL FC" why in caps I have no idea.

Always the victims.

Carling cup semi at anfield 2 years ago one of the worst ref decisions ever seen to give a pen for handball against Micha Richards.that penalty cost us a final place and probably another trophy,so what goes around comes around.

Years ago when Owen played for them, there was a newsagents near me run by a mad Liverpool fan, at the back of the shop there was a portrait of Owen and I kid you not it was almost like a religious Icon, then it struck me it's not really a football club but a kind of religious cult, it shows all the signs like it's members can do no wrong according to the believers, strange club

Apparently candles have been lit and a book of condolence opened. Jobcentres on Merseyside will remain closed until after the New Year.

There was a great post, written by a Chelsea fan I believe, that covers this very idea. It's pretty convincing!
