Rodgers is nothing more than a spin doctor coming out with comments about how big a club they are to ego massage their fans. It's amazing how many lap it up. The it will take City 20 years comment is a classic, I'm all for the here and now and for 5 years we've been the bigger club. Last season apart have they really progressed? Squad is bigger and that's about it. They are the almost winners and the fans seem in the main content with that. For what they once were that is incredible.

If Rodgers thinks any player give a toss about who won what in the 70 and 80s, he's even more deluded than I thought.

It's pretty obvious City are a much more attractive proposition than Liverpool in 2015. The fact we've won 2 League Titles in the last 4 years as opposed to NONE in 25 years like Liverpool just proves that.

The timing of that Sterling smoking video was interesting. Anyone else think Liverpool know he's going and leaked that to the press to turn people against Sterling?

I don't think it was leaked, he is just a knob

Scouse wankers kept telling people FFP would be their saving grace and that City were fucked.

Now they're saying FFP is unfair and City are in a monopoly.

Hope you drown you fucking twats. We took your place in the little cartel and you're NEVER getting back in. Enjoy battling for Thursday nights away trips to Hungary you bellends, couldn't have happened to a nicer set of people either.
This. But not until we've officially finished above them.

The problem Liverpool have is the gap between their fans EARS, and the clubs reality.

You can't deny that 18 top flight league titles, and 5 European Cups/Champion's Leagues is highly impressive, however the fallacy that Liverpool have always been a top club that wins things is just that, a fallacy. Liverpool actually won 4 of their 5 European Cups, and 10 of their 18 league titles during the same 15 year period (1976 - 1990). Given Liverpool FC were founded in 1892 that means they've been in existence for 123 years, so in a 15 year spell they won 10 titles, and in the other 108 years they won 8 titles, 1 every 13.5 years. What do Coutinho, Moreno, Manquillo, Can, Borini, Sterling, Ibe, Flanagan, Balotelli, Henderson and Markovic all have in common? They're Liverpool first team footballers who weren't alive the last time a Liverpool captain lifted the top flight trophy! 25 years! Quite why, given it's been 2 and a half decades since their last triumph, Liverpool fans feel there is any expectation, or divine right, is beyond me.
Edited slightly.

Liverpool's basic problem is that their owners are trying to implement the principles of Moneyball in a different sport where it doesnt work nearly as well.

Moneyball works well in baseball because they play so many games 160+ in the regular season. Squad depth is essential. A squad based around young, not so well known players can get an unfashionable club into the play offs by virtue of winning enough of the gruelling regular season games. It doesnt work so well in the play offs when qualty counts.

They're trying to do the same at Liverpool, bringing in players just below top class and hoping they will exceed expectations. They thought they'd made it work last season. But the reality was that last seaon was all about Suarez. You need a few world class players to compete at the very top of the PL . which they no longer have.

Moneyball is stats based, which is why they spunked so much money on dross like Downing and Carrol. Downing had supplied the most crosses in the league and Carrol had scored the most headers. They thought putting the two together would make them unbeatable. Stupid twats got burned. I hope they never win anything ever again.

The sooner these cunts disappear into oblivion the better.

THE most delusional set of fans in the league bar none, desperatley clinging to the fading memory of when they were winning things on a regular basis.

The reason why they love that shiny toothed dwarf is the constant re-assurance that they are still relevant.

How many more years will we have to put up with their sycophantic allies in the media peddling this myth of a club.

The City thread on Rawk tells you all you need to know. I used to have a little sympathy with them in a 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' type of way

Not anymore, after last season....I can know see why the scum detest them so much....

Liverpool seems to be the dog that everyone wants to kick to make themselves feel a bit better

The only two teams that have had good seasons are Arsenal, Chelsea and Southampton, and Villa could yet wreck Arsenal's season.

I wouldn't rule Liverpool out of the top 4 yet.

City have yet to prove our bad run is behind us, and Utd have got some difficult fixtures.

Wow. That is spooky.

I could have written every word of that.

100% in agreement.
