1 step forward, 2 steps back for Liverpool. Not worried about them challenging us even next year. Selling your best players (Sterling, Suarez, Coutinho) sets a presedence to others in the team (Salah, Mane) and shows that if you have a good season or two you’ll get a big money move.

What evidence? There is nothing definite about what was or wasn't said off camera. The referee took no action apart from reporting to the 4th official an allegation that Holgate said that something was said. If the ref had heard anything racist (and he was closer to Firmino than Holgate) he would have probably sent Firmino off but he clearly decided to take no action as he wanted this to be clarified by an inquiry and dishing out cards would have muddied the water. Before you go acting as judge, jury and executioner let's see what an inquiry shows. This is a serious matter as there are either racist comments being made or there are not and if there are not then Holgate's actions and motives should be investigated. Lets wait and see, enough said.

The referee had his head turned and most likely didn't see or hear Firmino using the N word. Hell, Holgate sure as shit either heard it or lip read it because he immediately reacted and turned to the referee to tell him he'd been called the N word. Whether Firmino used the N word we are familiar with or the latin american version of 'Negro', it would be pretty easy for Holgate to lip read him - no prior qualifications in Portuguese needed for that. why don't you try it on a mate or family member.

As I say, at this moment in time all the evidence points to Firmino using disgusting racist language. Take your red spectacles off - do you really think Holgate is that good an actor to fake that reaction?
